A Shed With A Valley View 2026

Yeah just want I want to do, grow organically, get half the yield, slow growth, have to spray to keep the bugs away, yeah that's me!! No way jose!!
That's the truth.. Organic grows certainly attract pests and force you to spray...I didn't spray for years running hydro..Only got hit once with two spot mites and they came off a cut im certain of it..I have however noticed the weed tasted much better and burned cleaner..Granted I was only using the simple Lucas formula with GH nutes in a flood and drain set up..Very basic but productive for the time..I probably could never switch away from organic now..I mean reading yalls post ya may as well been speaking Chinese 😆. Got a brother way lost over here hahaha..If I had the interest I used to have and the market wasn't completely trashed ide certainly pay your way to Ohio to do me a proper build..For now I'll just stay a filthy dirt hippy that smells like bat shit and fish guts😆

tasted much better and burned cleaner..
Perhaps more a factor of the products and methods available at the time? I'm only on round 2 here and didn’t keep any flower from the first run but the hash was really good imo. I will probably end up drying and curing this round and make hash when it gets cooler.

Probably so I have no way to know really.
I've only consumed my own smoke for half my life..I have tried a few different products thru the years but have been organic for most of those..It's just what I know and I hate meters of any sort...All my problems went away when they did... When @Chefdave said something about making the plants do what you want them to do instead of reacting to what they do something really clicked in my mind about different grow methods..Ive never thought about it that way..Pretty damn solid statement that perhaps more ppl should think about..I'm definitely reactive to what the plants want but not really until they show me and even beg for it at times..Products have come a long long way..Hell even organic products have came a long way.. However I could and have grown like a caveman with excellent results..( composted whole fish..lots of fish guts..Willow water..egg shells.. Epsom salt. Goat shit and composted straw out of goat pens are just a few examples used in the past..With my needs these days being fully met with a simple top dress of a array drys and castings I'll probably never drop into the science based grows that certainly produce top of the line smoke..I love being able to follow along with other methods and seeing the results

With your p1 shots, your trying to reach your field capacity within 3 hrs of first p1 shots, with more quantitative smaller shots ( 3 to 4%,) or fewer larger shots 6 to 8 %. In two gallon pots, I would recommend four 6 percent(450ml) p1 shots spaced 30 minutes apart 1 hr after lights on then 5 to 7 3 percent shots (195 ml) spaced 1 hour apart
Shifting closer to something like this schedule. Looks like you switched in the middle from pot vol to water holding capicity? Given rounding if 450 ml is 6% (pot volume) 3% is 225 ml even using those numbers I'm using almost 2.5L more (6.5L vs. 4.275L). My runoff is probably in the mid single digit % of feed volume.
even beg for it at times
LMFAO
even organic products have came a long
💯
science based grows
If you are improving you're already doing this.

Ideally an organic grow will close the circle, for me that's not really feasible in a controlled environment indoor grow.

Those are shot volume of pot percentages for your 2gal pots, not volumetric water holding capacity percentage. Your volumetric water holding field capacity if using 100 percent coco is roughly 60 percent max, if 70/30 probably around 52 to 55 . This depends on your coco pith size and manufacturers mix of coco pith between fiber and chips

Yeah man, instinct is the number 1 tool a grower can have and you definitely have it in spades. Your weed is beautiful!! Everyones style is dictated and usually determines what style fits them, and that's the way it should be. As you know I grow for profit and this system fits that. Every sq. ft. is valuable real estate and has to be maximized for efficiency . Organics just don't fit commercial grows, no matter the size. There are many reasons it's damn near impossible to find legal organic commercial guys anymore, it's called compliance, real easy to fail tests for pathology, not to mention massive labor increases in everyday protocols, That's why most commercial guys run sterile salt based systems. You can run organics commercially even with the smaller yields and slower growth and be profitable, no doubt about it, there is a market in most larger cities for organically grown cannabis that demands, like organic food, a premium price.

Bumping the ec up was a mistake, no disater, just took a wrong turn.

Thinking I should turn the under canopy ventilation off or make it intermittent at least during lights out. What I believe is a Ca deficiency seems worse directly above the fan.

Gonna look into adding iron to the pickle crisp and if I can figure something out will probably end up doing at least one more run on the Kalix line.

Day 39
20260805_195433.jpg20260805_194749.jpg

P1 events start 30 min after lights on 20 min apart (1x 300ml and 4x 600ml). P2 events (9x 300ml) start 1hr after last P1 and are 1hr apart, last event is 30min before lights out. Might drop one of the P2 but will keep this for probably the next week or so and shoot for right around 2.0 ec then begin the ripen phase.

Zug Island @HBZ just starting to show, one confirmed female.

Some temporary wilting point on the west side, yeah I go camping from time to time.

Reservoir refill ended up with 12 gallons to hit 2.0 ec
Kalix Base - 14.7g (<35%)
Kalix Bloom - 60g (<60%)
Kalix Profile - 10g (reduced, might use KMS next refill)
Pickle Crisp - 4g
Epsom Salt - 10g
GG Mono-silicic - 1ml
SA Garden Friendly Fungicide - 1.5ml

Did a microbial drench for P1 Rootwise enzymes, biophos and complete.

I want to steer away from the foxtail. 2hrs before lights out day 44. 20260811_052348.jpg
Nitrogen looks better than last round, still needs some fine tuning. Will probably drop another gram for next res change in 3-4 days (calcium formate on order). I think i missed vpd during bulk by a little (leaf curl). Coulda pulled a few leavers to manage that better, mostly just setting up ramps in automation for the enviro.

Dimmed light to 60%, dropped 2x P2 shots (one yesterday and one for tomorrow), doing what I can on temps every few days dropping a degree or adding a set point for ramp.

Occasional cloudy trich.

Looks like I'll be dropping another P2 shot.

I was gonna hunt the Funeral Cookies this winter, still will but not for the first flower run. I'll do similar to how I did the Gorilla Bubble, killing lots in veg, but I won't stagger the starts.

To fill the gap I picked up a clone.
Provided it makes it through quarntine.

I had a little buyer's remorse on that clone, I mean after cashing $18.60 in rewards points I'm into it for $1.40 +tax lol. Anyway I only discussed flavor and effect with the budtender and was suspect of the narrow leaf but have had good luck with this particular budtender in the past. The "African Landrace" part of the description piqued my interist so I reached out and we'll see what they have to say. Funeral Cookies has swazee in it...

Day 47
P1 is 4 events - 1x every 30min, 30 min afer lights on totaling 2.1L.
P2 is 6 events - 1x every hour, 1hr after last P1 to 4hrs before lights out.

Probably going to increase time between both P1 and P2 events and continue dropping P2 events. Previously I waited for the plant to stop drinking. This is like the plant understands it needs to stop drinking now, not 10 days from now. Really cool.
