In Bloom
Been meaning to start up a log for a while. Given how top notch a lot of the growers are around here, not sure how much I have to offer. CHEERS!

Here are some pics of Toasted Strawberry and Trippy Escalade. Soil in 3's and 5' gal pots.

Usually show some signs of yellow leafs in flower, but this run has been more then usual.

I have a tendency to go light on nutes so not suprised if that impacted the color.

Pulled down one of the Toasted Strawberry's and one of the Trippy Escalades. Going to let the other two run a little longer. Moved in some plants from the veg tent.
3 Gal - Hanger 272
3 Gal - Toasted Strawberry
3 Gal - Apple Bottom

+Mix of cuts that are good enough for me to run to harvest, but not keepers for more then 2 cycles.

Looking good dude! whats your choice of medium and nutrients?

also, who made the Trippy Escilade? looks real pretty
Soil/Nutes:

Favorite part of this passion is the constant experimenting/trying new things.

Make my own soil recipe. Hard to believe how much cheaper this is then buying ready to go soil. Starting point for recipe is:
-Soil
-Perlite
- Dr Earth 4-6-3
-Touch of Limestone Dolomite

Nutes: always trying new things but usually:
- 1/4 strength or less GH Flora Trio
- once or twice per week add GH CalMag
-use Dr. Earth 1-1-1 if any plant looks like could use a boost
-Last couple weeks of Veg and first couple weeks of Flower use Alaska Fish 0-10-10.

Slowly decrease nutes on tail end of flower.

Have recently been experimenting with coco (either coco/perlite or coco/soil/perlite). Dont think it is for me. Have a hard time getting the PH dialed in. Also if I go heavy on perlite then always seem hungry for nutes. If go light in perlite then uneven drying and the coco compresses like crazy. Also doesnt seem to re-use very well.

Trippy Escalade:
Breeder is Firefly Genetics. Have ran through probably 15 of these beans and have found two that I like and am keeping around. One is a deep purple and more foxtail/catlyx shape nugs (not sure if there is a term for this but that is how i would describe the shape) other puts out more dense golf ball type nugs and is more colorfull. Have not found one that has great node spacing or leaf ratios, but every cycle seem to be some of the more potent in the group. Do think they would benefit from less light, but never want to turn them down on the other plants.

Keeping an eye on my veg tent for a male that I think will pair well to help with the yield and plant shape.

Anyone have any tips for managing the cold weather? Grow gets down to about 55-60 during the winter and always seems like my planta get a little more sensitive.

Thinking maybe this year I will only run cuts during winter and hold off on popping seeds....but I do have an itching for running some beans.

Sounds about right.

That temp is not horrendous, yet it can flirt with the dew point.
Humidity and powdery mildew are the most visible enemies at that temperature.
Vigour and root health are more subtle.

Trouble is, if the air is getting down to that temperature, then the soil is as well.
There is evaporation occurring from the media, and this also has a cooling effect. After the lights come on, air quickly warms to a more acceptable temperature. Soil takes a long time to heat up.
Cold soil is slow soil.

A 500 w heater like notdez posted would suffice for your environment.
Insulating would hoard the heat that you paid for. As simple as a sheet of Styrofoam under the garden.
A false floor would allow you to duct the heat under the media.

Winter growing is very doable. One does need to be cautious about where all of that humidity ends up.

I'm looking forward to checking out your setup, I will poke around and find what I can see.🐰

Might be having a brush with thirps. Going to sanitize everything tomorrow. Placed some of the yellow sticky pads (not sure if those help with thirps) and watching out. This plant is only in a 1 gal and pretty small. Any value in scrapping the plant to prevent spread? Or is it to late? Any chance it isn't thirps/bugs? Has not spread to any other plants.

Other then that things are running smoothly. Temps have been unusually high, so not running into a lot of issues yet.

One of the Apple Bottoms and Hanger 272 are getting pretty close to chop. Cl1000005688.jpgoudy trichombs, but going to let run another week or two. The Hanger 272 has a yellow fade. Always struggle with the yellow fade because I think it is a deficiency. Many of the plants are showing a little nitrogen abundence (clawing, minor nute burn, dark green in early flower). Not use to this, but thinking probably build up in soil.

Getting excited to fire back up in the new spot. One month out and starting to daydream about it.

It has been a long time since I have bought pre-mixed out of the bag soil. Never did it because of cost, but would love some insight from the group if it is worth it given the fresh start?

After taking some time off and enjoying a mix of prior harvests, looking forward to finding some gems for the mother tent. Kind of exciting having a blanket slate for the first time in a while.

Game plan for the run:
1. Germ/seedling in solo
2. Transfer right to three gal
4. Top at third node
5. At about 6 node lollipop
6. Flip to flower at about week 8
7. Harvest 1 week after about 20% amber (historically i have let more go too long then short).

Nutes:
Primary:
1. Maxigrow
2.MaxiBloom

Supplemental:
1.general hydro cal-mag - historically every other feed unless plants say otherwise
2. dr. earth 1-1-1 - periodically use as a ph down. In past winters have been able to pick it up for real cheap during the winter.
3. Alaska Morbloom - 0-10-10 - last couple feedings of Veg and first couple feeding of flower

Seeds to run - still up in the air, would love some thoughts from the group. Seed collection is nothing unique, but I still love them.

Going to Run:
BC x Pigs in a blanket - @Deebs

Couple of loose seeds i want to run to finish the pack:
Gorilla Butter x Red Pop - detroit seed co
Blooze Traveler - 3thirteen

Probably one more from the following:
Refined Taste x Koffee mints - Rekind
Bck x Nepali highlands - @Deebs
Monkey juice - 3thirteen
Power Sherb f2
Platinum og punch breath - tarantula
hi indica x wookiez - bodhi
Golden triangle x (kimdawg x di fruitti) - Alpine Valley Organics
(Blueberry x og kush) x (kimdawg x di fruitti) - Alpine Valley Organics

20260103_000414.jpg

Put seeds in water this past weekend.

Strawberry Truffle - lone last seed
Snowball fight - lone last seed
Platinum OG Punch Breath
BC x Pigs in a Blanket

All the seeds except two of the BC x Pigs in a Blanket germinated and showed tails.

Moved over into rapid rooters tonight. Never started seedlings in rapid rooters, but had them around and figured I would gove it a try.
