Cart time

Going to use new rotovape for first time today. Doing a 10 min qwet wash. I'm going to do bath at 50c and water circulator at 0c . Ethanol has been chilled at -10c for days as has biomass. Anyone with suggestions please feed in. This is a 2lt rotovape. I was told to run till viscosity of molasses then finish in vacuum chamber, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm a little stressed, these glass pieces like all glass is fragile. Cheers Dave

Ahhh, the good ole water aspitator. 1 rule of anything, never buy a pre-fab'd kit. That setup is "decent". But that water aspirator is no bueno. It's 101% garbage and will give you headaches.

I have 150+ rotovap sessions under my belt while washing and recovering over 550 gallons of ethanol. And another hundred+ SPD (short path distillation) runs (separating thc from ethanol wash), biomass wash and recovery.


There are a few ways you can "cheat" to get cold h20 for the condensing needs (tap (cold), or run a pump and the 5gal bucket tek. And use a welch wob-l vac pump. I've done it all 3 ways (tap/pump/bucket/chiller).




I have SOP's for ethanol biomass wash (no need for winterization step with my SOP), short path distillation, rotovape, ethanol recovery from biomass.

Man I wish I understood what is going on here. Purging ethanol washes?

You "can" use the "crude" from ethanol wash for carts. You must decarb it and purge all the ethanol out before carting it. Plus (depending on strain(s) used, it's gonna taste like crap since the terps carry over in the ethanol wash.
