I was short on outlets so my constant ec meter wasn’t up and running. I fixed my outlet problem today, calibrated my meter and then referenced with a second handheld probe. Ec was 1.1 way too high for them. I was able to drop it down to 1.03 by adding 1.5 gallons of water. Friday is my first res change. I’ll fix it then and get it down to 0.6-0.8 ms.

They been in about a week now. First drain and fill today. Corrected ec. Sitting at .74 and ph 5.9.

13 days in hydro, roots are looking good. Ph 5.8 EC .76 this weekend is my second drain and fill. I’m going to up EC to 1.0

Big growth in just a few days! We’ve hit that point where it becomes explosive! EC .9 ph 5.8. Today I starts cycle of 10 mins after lights out on 15 watt far red. Going to do first topping in a few days! I only plan on topping twice and minimal to no training. Trellis nets just for late stage support.

Big growth in just a few days. They are steady eating. Not drinking as much yet. Ec dropped from .9 to .76. I’m going to up feed strength next res change.

Plants topped. One plant grew its top back. And please before I get all the FIMMED comments. That isn’t what this is, it wasn’t pinched, it was a clean cut with surgical scissors, nothing was missed. Please don’t make me post peer reviewed scientific studies to refute what you think you know etc.

I plan on tissue culturing the plant that regrew its top and working with her more down the line or at the very least putting her out in the ether for people to work with after culturing. I think she deserves that. Both plants recovered topping almost immediately. They are about 4 weeks old and around the 2 feet tall mark.

Flipped to flower today. Running 13/11 main and s16 lights. Above/under canopy far red is set for 15 mins after lights out. Plants will be on 13/11 till end of week 3 stretching period to maximize DLI. Then more lights will come online after that period or ramp up intensity.

Been a little bit since posting. Here a my lovely ladies, but these pics are from today sat July 13th. I Supercropped the right plant a bunch. Did a little on the left. Turned lighting schedule down from 13/11 to 12/12. We are at just over week two of flower, and tomorrow marks 3 weeks of flowering lighting schedule. Ph 6.3 Ec 1.4. I’m doing some major defoliation/lollipoping tomorrow and also plan on tissue culturing some as well.

The tissue culture is more of an experiment this time as the vessels have been prepared for a few months for a client that never ended up providing material. So I want to see if they are still viable and able to produce anything. They have been kept in a fridge and show no signs of degradation or dehydration. The only concern would be hormone degradation.

But over all I must say I’m impressed with these damn Kyle S1’s so far. Very vigorous, started producing trichomes pretty fast as well. Has a fruity pebbles with a very light gas smell to it. Oh my main light is raised to its max in my 6.5 foot tent it’s about 5 inch’s from the ceiling, Hydro buckets are 17 inch’s tall to give you an idea of how big these 2 girls are.

Ok, ladies are cleaned up a little bit, was able to get enough material to culture with! 20 min bath 10% bleach and 1ml of polysorbate 20.

Week 3.5 of flower. Ladies are nice and sugary, smells like floral candy with piney gas overtone. Running over head 30 watt uv for 1.5 hours mid cycle.

Lovely frosty ladies! Week 4.5 of flower, ph 6.3 ec 1.6. These ladies are not heavy eaters. This heatwave is not doing me any favors, over head light @70% mid canopy s16’s at 100%, ad lite at 100%. Usually temps are around upper 70’s 78-79. But now in the evening we are hitting 80-81 but it’s ok because it’s about an hour or two before lights go out, I have my ad lite set to dim to 10% once temps hit 80 and that’s seemed to help. Only really issue this run was I wasn’t able to get the mars hydro dehumidifer to work with the controller. So it’s set on its own sensor and running. I have it rigged to a drain tube and on blocks and draining to 16qt bucket outside my tent. Works beautifully!

Week 7 on Friday. Harvesting soon! Yield won’t be as much as I was hoping for, but they are rock hard, covered in trichomes and super greasy. Ph 6.3 Ec 0.6. These girls were not heavy feeders. Highest Ec I got while remaining stable was 1.4. My next run is going to be deep ellums grape bubblegum (01 Dallas grape s1 x 98 bubblegum)
