Humidity dome with some overhead

In Bloom
Im outta ideas for a humidity dome that is tall enough to accommodate a solo cup and seedlings beyond a couple weeks. Ive got the usual assortment of seedling trays and clone trays but nothing really accommodates a mid-size seedling. I'm in a dry environment and keeping even my living space above desert conditions requires a humidifier be running 24x7. The best I can do in my tent is about 50% on a good day. So how do I keep these young ones moist, they're so sad

If Hell came to high water, you could try building a mini tomato cage type thing and wrap it with cellophane. Poke a few breather holes, but not that many..
Keep in mind, you shouldn’t have to use it that long like @Bevers mentioned.

You can find different size clear Sterilite totes at the dollar store. I have seedling trays but prefer them for size and durability. i stand them up for taller clones and open them daily for a few minutes to get some fresh air but my humidity is never as low as yours. You will probably need bigger ones to veg in but like others said i wouldn’t leave them in there too long.

I think @Deebs got one of these -

Couldn't find right off the bat how tall the extension is.
Not as many cells as I'd like, but overall it is awesome, no more drippage from the humidity rolling down the hood. I'll get a measurement when I get to work today ;)

Are you going to veg these out completely under a humidity dome or something? 50% is fine. I start my plants in 40% or so and then once they get big enough and transpiring the humidity gets up there. That doesn’t take long.
Nah, but for the sake of being anywhere in the ballpark (and at low humidity Im really in the ballpark parking lot) of the correct VPD Ive gotta find a better solution than harden them off at two weeks and good F'n luck in the desert air afterward. Or not. Just gardening

I have an 18 gallon plastic tank from an old water softener I removed for a client and built a pvc frame and taped plastic on it

Added water and put an aquarium heater and air stone in and now I can pop seeds or root clones with little issue. It could be made to fit whatever size, within reason of course.

I just stuck that solo in there to show the size. The smaller plants are clones and need to be potted but they're all wet from condensation and I don't have to add water very often.

A 5 gal bucket could be used or old aquarium. I built this one to help keep my sm greenhouse warmer in sunny so cal winters and it has really helped and made seed popping and cloning much easier. I remove the heater in summer?

I've been too shy to ask about that rig.
Love it!!!
