Moldy (white) in fresh bag of FFOF soil

So, I've been using ffof for 10yrs or so. I've been through hundreds of bags, and never experienced this in a bag.

White mold. Safe to use or back to the grow store to replace?

My guess is it's fine. That mycelium is probably just breaking down the organic matter, and not a plant pathogen, cause there's no live plants in there to feed on.

Yeah, it has (microhazea (sp)), thought it was that, but never seen to this extreme.

IME, those bags that had the biology kick off hard in the bag are GREAT for seedlings. When it kicks off in the pot, the oxygen demand is high, and they'll struggle just like overwatering.

What's growing in there in a saprophytic fungi, a decomposer. The mycorrhizae don't grow without live plant roots.

Yep, the fungi use a lot of oxygen when they're growing fast like that. I've attempted growing mushrooms & plants in the same container a few times with mixed results. Agaricus blazei grew great with cannabis plants, been wanting to try that again. The biggest issue with doing this is Fungus gnats, they get bad quick, lol.

What you’re seeing in that bag looks like saprophytic fungal growth (basically beneficial/neutral decomposer fungi), not something harmful.

Seen this many times with foxfarm. Im using coco loco and will get the same and sometimes caps, I just mix up and use as norm.
