Opinion on these autos

So this is about week 6 from germ- pretty disappointing with lack of bud fattening so far. This is night owl genetics $50 for 3 seeds. Seem to be ruderralis leaning to me but perhaps I’m being impatient and they’ll thicken up? I’m not a beginner so they’ve had proper nutrition and sunlight etc no fault of my own. Haven’t ran autos in 7 years so do you think they’ll put on weight? Skimp so far ugh

If that plant has just been grown outdoors, I'd say it looks about right, it'll probably go another 6 weeks. Outside they don't perform as well, they're very light hungry, so to get them to really chunk up they need more like 18-20hrs of light per day. Some even run them 24 hrs. I've also seen some growers started adding outdoor grow lights to run at night over their autos to get the full potential/expression.

Well explained ^ and Amen to that , I like to run my auto’s/semi auto selections in veg room or early in outdoors cause they like that lower ppfd but 18hr-24hr lught like thrich explained. Well explained

Okay thank you for input. Should I bring them indoor and blast them then you think I could get them to chunk still?

Get an outdoor rated led and let it run all night cycles. It doesn’t need to be a high wattage led. 2x of these is 35 bucks and they will def push ur DLI and each led do 1-2 plants np or more

I have a couple spider farmer sf4000s and also a big ass 5x5 7000. I may just bring them into my grow room to finish there if they can chunk. I didn’t expect Outback to not satisfy DLI it’s south facing back there they get full blasted sun from like 630 am until 8pm. But if I can just squeeze an oz out of each id be fine with that. So far these pencil nugs won’t cut it. I went a little nitrogen heavy early on and was hoping once they flushed that out they’d thicken but i don’t like how much mature they’re looking and not fattening. I’ll bring them indoor and update you guys thx. I do however have some massive outdoors photos I’m excited about they’re already 4’ tall yay

Also auto’s like their ppfd needs don’t want much nutes. Like 1/4-1/2 strengeth . my multi times I tried auto’s I over feed em and they looked horrible n toxic and I’m a dude who uses slow release stuff that barely ever burns my normal plants. Live and learn .

Thank you. I won’t be doing auto again lol. Also it just occurred to me if I bring them inside now and increase light cycle I hope that doesn’t shock them too much and they herm on me hmmmm? Idk

I just tried this and had no issues. I started them under 24hrs, then had them just outside, then some space opened up indoors (lights on at night) and I'd move them in there each night. Got tired of that and stuck em in the greenhouse, they never skipped a beat! I'll post a few pics so you can see how mine finished up, probably gonna chop them tomorrow. Don't give up on them, they have their place. I find that they have unique terps & effects compared to photos. Its nice to switch things up on occasion.
