Perpetual Personal Grow Log

Hi there!

I’m creating this thread with the intention of posting my personal indoor grow shenanigans, and (hopefully) regularly updating it.

Please keep your arms and legs inside the thread at all times. Direct all complaints to management. The pilot is still learning, so you might want to fasten your seatbelt. It could get bumpy.

Welcome aboard and thanks for joining!

Strawberry Diesel by Alter Ego.

Listed as an f2 on the package, website packs show open pollination. Can’t find any further information on this particular strain.

If anyone has info about Alter Ego’s Strawberry D, I’d love to know more!

Week 7 flower.
#6 (sweet fresh strawberry aroma)

#4 (funky pheno that changes from baked strawberry goods, to fresh strawberries, to strawberry-scented wasp spray)
This one changes all the time.

Colombian Gold - Pink Pistil Pheno by Alter Ego.

Interesting history on this particular plant. Apparently well-worked according to the website.

I really enjoyed this plant. Plan to grow many more. The silvery hue of the finished buds kept me coming back to the stash jar just to take a peak. Fun to grow. Would recommend.

I made a couple dozen more seeds of the line. I want to grow her better next time!

Mexican Red Hair Skunk by Alter Ego

This was the first photoperiod I grew last year after taking a decade-long break.
I forgot that you need to feed plants in order to keep them healthy. This grow was my most valuable learning experience so far.

By the time this strain was a couple of weeks into flower, I felt like I was chasing a new problem every day for the rest of the 11-12 weeks.

99% operator error in this case.

Harvested sometime around 11-12 weeks.

Aromas were like iced tea with sweet wood and lemon. Can’t really find anything else to compare it to. Mild aroma in vegetation and flower.

Effects were energetic and motivating, putting a smile on my face. Short-lived. Found myself reaching for the stash jar more often than with most strains, but once you smoked a little bit, you were ready to tackle all of your weekend honey do list in one go. No real comedown effects, other than just noticing, “I’m not high anymore.”

I don’t have any more of these beans. I did use a Purest Indica male to pollinate one of the females, ending up with dozens of seeds to hunt through later.

Enjoyed this one, but it wasn’t quite the high or aromas I was expecting from a Mexican heirloom. Very mild, yet effective medicine. Painted my dining room in one day after smoking this. It was one of those “we should paint a room” moments that turned into an 80’s montage home improvement episode.

Day 53F

#4 is finishing up much quicker than #6. Starting to see some amber on a couple of bracts at the top.

Pistils on #4 changing color nicely. #6 pistils beginning to change this week.

The aroma is great on both.
At the moment, #4 is a sweet (mild) strawberry with hints of pastry. Complex scent - multilayered; top, middle, base notes all present.

#6 reminds me more of a fresh strawberry. Simple scent - layered, but not as varied of notes; top and middle notes are present, more top heavy. Pleasant aroma - regularly reminds me that I need to go buy (and eat) more fruit.
