I've never torn the roots outI dunno how y'all do it but this is how I do it.. Brutally rip and tear the top roots Out, AView attachment 212964 good quarter of the plant
Sure thing brother. I'll send ya some. Trying to work a few chucks soon. May reverse the super silver haze.. haven't decided yet..As far as what I use...It's the bare minimum.. Mostly promix BX with some happy frog soil perlite and worm castings...DTE dry nutes...Bio live 5-4-2 and starter mix 3-3-3 50/50 for veg. For bloom Pride lands 2-5-5 and starter mix @ 2 parts pride land one part starter.. Calmag, photosynthesis +. That's pretty much it. If I need to tweak a plant I use the fish emulsions and earth juice liquid.. Got some dry humics ..fulvic..kelp and frass...langbeanite..Hard to explain kind of because the plants may all get different shit at different times..But it's just thr basic simple stuff...I NEVER PH anything ever...Save that for the hydro guysI've never torn the roots out
Like that before. I've revegged a few plants so far. What I used was just a very sharp and serrated bread knife. Then to start I cut roughly a quarter (give or take a little) off of each side of the root bal. After that I usually pack more media around the much smaller and start back on low veg nutes. (Roughly between .5 to 1 EC. I always end up learning something when I come through your journal. I wouldn't mind know exactly what you you use. I know you said promix, but what all do you run on your plants if you don't mind me asking. Most of the pictures that you post of your plants turn out so gorgeous, it pushes me to want to keep learning and being the best cultivator I possibly can be. Keep it coming cause i look forward to it @HBZ I'm pretty positive that I'm not the only member who thinks so. I really hope to have the opportunity try some of your chucks one day!
How is that g13 widow..I love the older strains..Isn't she a heavier indica type smoke tho?Good info here.
The biggest thing that I've noticed when revegging is that giving a revegging plant a shot of alfalfa extract in the first few waterings after harvest seems to promote vegetative growth. N and triacontanol are money.
Currently revegging that G13 Widow for the second time, for the record.

Yes always add perlite..Promix definitely holds a lot of water..I started using Promix to save money..Happy frog and Ocean forest is a lil expensive ..2 parts happy one part Ocean..Thats how I ran for years..Honestly i wouldn't expect much growing in Promix. It's garbage lol.Needs perlite and castings...Really have to stay on top of your feed game..Make sure you have Calmag..Promix will show you just how quick a plant can get deficient if ya slack..Once ya get used to it you can smooth thru just fine..Saves money when using dry nutes but the liquid i was going thru I was better off with the fox farm soil...When it comes to Calmag ive found NOTHING substitutes the Botanicare Calmag plus..Ive tried em allInteresting thread. I've never had a reveg fail either and all I've ever done was harvest the vast majority of the plant and threw it back in the veg room. I go easy on the watering, never feed it and have yet to fail. I like hearing some of the other strategies though. I'm sure at some point here my "lazy AF" approach will fail me and I'll have to step my game up though!
I've been thinking about switching to promix for a long while but haven't yet. I like that you can buy it by the bundle. I might have to make the move soon because tracking down my Strawberry Fields for flower is starting to become a pain. @HBZ do you always add perlite to your mix? Does the Promix hold water well?
Man I personally have never revegged a plant guess I never thought about it or felt the need because of cuts but I think it's cool especially if you didn't take cuts. Promix is not good for salt based indoor fertigation of cannabis in my opinion due to high peat content, ph swings . I have not grown with it organically or outside but how can ya get better than 50/50 Coco/Perlite! Coco is King. Just my 2 cents. As for cal mag because coco loves both, I use 1.2 lbs of magnesium sulfate dissolved per gallon in hot water to make liquid concentrate. For calcium same but calcium nitrate. Saves me tons over pre made liquid. I used to go through 5gal of calmag in 2mo at 130 bucks now spend 100 bucks for 6mo supply. Luv that your posting often again @HBZ and spending more time with the girls always enjoy what your doing brother. I've never tried Coco..I keep it around because I clone in it but never ran plants in it..The only reason I haven't I guess is everyone saying it's basically like running hydro at that point..Not sure how it would be so different than soil or Promix..I used to run hydro solely and know the importance of Ph..The way I do things it's just a complete waste of time PHing anything..I've tried a few times just to see if I could improve but the opposite happened..I have a constant PH meter in my water res because I've found the well water for some reason likes to spike over 9 time to time...But most of the time it's just under 7..When i see it go up i use tap water for a couple weeks..The tap has always been 7 to 7.5..Checked the well water earlier and it was 6.8..Checked the tap and it was 7.2...Coud anyone explain how or if Coco would be that much different than say Promix and would I have to PH things...I know we could have a major discussion about PH but it's my finding that running organic you're doing nothing but chasing your tail.. Complete waste of time...Running salt or hydro absolutely...Ya better be PHingMan I personally have never revegged a plant guess I never thought about it or felt the need because of cuts but I think it's cool especially if you didn't take cuts. Thanks Chef! I been spending MOST of my time with the gals..I don't have work or anything to worry about so all my focus is going to them. Got some really nice stuff in the works..I'm going to try your Calmag method..Ive tried so many "cheaper" Calmags and nothing delivered like Botanicare...But if I can stop using that expensive shit ide be super happy..Where ya get your product? @ChefdaveMan I personally have never revegged a plant guess I never thought about it or felt the need because of cuts but I think it's cool especially if you didn't take cuts. Hell yeah, that's the main thing I hunt for!Dude, it's thunder. Immediate lights out heavy indica. The reveg is partially so that I can chuck more pollen at it.
I guess what I'll have to do is what I always do..I'll just run the same clones in a side by side. One soil, one Promix, one Coco and Ph nothing as usual...See what happens... Nothing to lose..I throw away plants all the time..I don't take no kinda bullshit off a fussy plantMy 2 cents on the coco thing: alright, so, there's a couple of things that I can think of that take the whole "constant pH monitoring" out of the equation:
First and foremost, I highly suggest using tap water, no need to aerate with stones or neutralize it *UNLESS* you have some sort of "boil order" or have otherwise been notified that your municipal water should not be consumed. If you have not received such an alert & your tap water is otherwise fine to drink, then I advise using that as it's generally more consistent in its pH and PPM levels. Good way to check: get a goldfish, put it in a bowl of your tap water. If that bad boy lives thru a water change then it's more than safe for plants.
The thing I do mostly; I find a ratio of nutrients & supplements that comes out a certain pH & I only check the pH once every other week, or if I see my plants doing anything weird. *If I spot "weirdness" let's say tip burn or something, #1 I double-check that my nutrient solution is still coming out to my desired pH (I always aim for 6.2-6.4) and then increase my runoff for a couple days. *I almost always have to use 8-10 drops of pH down in my Grow mixes to hit 6.4, but my Bloom mixes almost always hits 6.3 & it's consistent enough that, as mentioned, I only check pH if the plant is weird or just every couple weeks, Oh & especially when I change the ratios of things for any reason, I make amix & just copy what I do each time
Coco is pretty forgiving like that, IMO. I've heard of PLENTY of people wh swear "I've done a whole grow without ever checking pH" but in my experience those are the "weed is weed" people & not the fine connoiseurs such as ourselves![]()
Coud anyone explain how or if Coco would be that much different
Holds water ,holds air, great for rooting.Coco..I keep it around because I clone in it
