Schwaggy P's Random Stuff

@Schwaggy P , Did any of the grafting experiments work out?
They got pushed to make room for starting up breeding skunks again. The ASS's and about 40 Schwaggy's Skunk #1 need the room so flowering out grafted plants for fun took a backseat. A small group of Bog's Sour Strawberry are also in line for the flower room, so space is at a premium right now.

The last Bubba Kush cross I ran tasted/smelled like Dove milk chocolate. The Bubbas I had grown earlier were very coffee/earthy in smell and taste.
The coffee smell has that dairy component like you're smelling a cup of coffee and cream and not just a can of coffee grounds. The coffee aspect also has a bitterness that I bet can come across as milk chocolate or chocolate variants (husky bitterness with a dairy note) either through different phenos or just suggestive smelling. There's a point in the smell for me where the coffee hasn't fully developed and you just have these nebulous notes of creamy bitterness that havent quit chosen a direction yet.

How's the chocolate diesel smelling?
Limey Diesel without touching anything. Once you brush against it, the strong lime (the actual citrus fruit flavor, not just generic 'sour') gives way to a more generic sour. Also, the 'chocolate' note is very faint and not like a chocolate bar or cocoa powder. Its kind of like the bitter chocolate notes you can pick up in Bubba Kush. I've smelled Chocolate Jasmine flowers (Cestrum diurnum) that are a dead ringer for hershey's chocolate cocoa powder, so my bar for plants that smell like chocolate is high.

Very good to know I knew I was smelling lime in the chocolate diesel x chocolate trip...👍👍

I had Mass Super Skunk for a while, and I'm convinced it's what contributed that sharp lime/citrus note to the Sour Diesel line and all those sour/tang-leaning pheno variations. The first time I flowered her out, I caught that piercing citrus and immediately thought, "Holy shit... this is where it comes from."

Good times. Hunting those traits back to their source is one of the most rewarding parts of growing. It gives you a real appreciation for the breeding process, and it's nice knowing some of those traits pass along so readily.

This is connecting a lotta dots in my head. Ive had a theory that MSS is a parent in a lot of those sour/headband types, but it was a bit before my time. Would you say that MSS had like a stale heineken skunky? Or was it like skunk spray? All the skunky hybrids Ive tried seem to be in that stale beer range, minus Sterling Skunk which was like dead animal. And Ive been trying to piece together what's what, to very limited success lol
