Tree of Life Genetics
Just wanted to give a brief heads up on today's bar lighting used with scrog netting. Modern bar lighting is a huge advancement in lighting for cannabis in comparison to quantum boards, cobs, hids, etc., They provide much better canopy ppfd uniformity in comparison to other styles, however for them to be used to maximum efficacy a scrog net should be used, plant canopy uniformity, top to bottom is the key to increased yields and quality consistency. The ppfd difference between hanging light 8 inches above canopy and 18 inches is dramatic!! If you have a netted even canopy you can run lights closer to tops of plants and reduce wattage through dimming, this saves lots of energy, while maintaining the same ppfd you require at the stage or week of flower cycle. This is very important when running CO2. When placing lights closer, pay attention to vpd leaf temperature or signs of leaf stress or bleaching. Another advantage of course of scrogging is the ability to grow different cultivars and the ability to control height on big stretchers. Most everyone on this site is prive to this info, just wanted to post for those who aren't.Lack of proper planning of plants veg time and height when your ready to flip are one of the biggest mistakes I see with growing, other than improper environmental control. Scrogging helps ya even those mistakes. Things happen with people and their plants, that may advance or delay the flip, such as waiting for previous cycle to finish, fast growing cultivars in veg mixed with slower growing varieties, personal emergencies, equipment failures, etc. I have been there hundreds of times. Scrogging has helped me dramatically in those situations. Cheers
