Southside112's little 3x3

Hello friends! Wanted to share a quick update on what I got going on. As I mentioned in previous post, this grow was delayed by a few seedlings damping off. I feel like I have everything lined out now.
I have a very vigorous monster cropped Slymer that I am excited about.
The other 4 plants are looking great now. I topped the 2 most vigorous plants and I am going to leave the other 2 that are behind untopped to save veg time.
As you know we are always learning as our journey chugs along. I have learned that high ppfd is not necessary in veg. It can even be a detriment as intense veg lighting makes the plants stack nodes too closely. I've backed off the ppfd in veg and I like the node spacing and plant structure much better.
The spyderfarmer evo light is just very impressive. The plants love this spectrum. I am like 30 days or more into veg but not really counting. I will wait until I am satisfied with all plants size and structure before I flip. Here are some pics from my tent from today. Cheers. 🍻 👏 ✌️

So the goal this grow was to take my time and go for maximum yeild. I went to 5 gallon pots from 3. Took my time and did not rush veg. Here my plants are today on day 1 of flip to flower. All plants are vigerous and healthy. My front right plant was most vigorous in veg and I had a nitrogen deficiency couple weeks back. Think I have everything lined out again.

So we are coming along nicely. Not the most even canopy you will ever see. Lol. Guess this is what happens when you run 5 different strains. We are like a week into flower and everything is starting to stretch. I am thinking about hanging a light off to one side for some side lighting. Thoughts? You needed to weave the tops in the net so you have a even canopy, too late now.

You could raise the net to meet the largest tops, then start weaving them into empty squares of net as they continue to stretch. At the same time use something underneath the smaller plantsto elevate them to meet the top of the net and do the same weaving as they also stretch. That way you have a even canopy.

Hey Dave thanks for taking the time. I will definitely give this technique a go next run God willing. Cheers brother. 🍻

Thats a 4x4 tent right? If it is you should be able to plant 12 plants perfectly, set the net 12 inches above top of tallest plant on flip day, then for the next 21 days as the plants stretch, weave into every empty square, till they are filled as best as possible. This will create a even canopy, which is the key to consistency in quality in of buds

Man I wish I still had the back for trellis work. It's really hard yielding more than 2-4oz per plant without one indoors.

It's a 3x3 brother.

What do you think about hanging a 200w led off to 1 side of the tent for some side lighting? Like under the trellis. Thinking like 40% power just to give lower canopy some more light. Any others would love to hear your opinion.

It's a 3x3 brother.
So for a 3x3, which I feel is better than a 4x4,( due to the fact that you can access plants much easier) if it were my tent, I would build a 3 x 3 scrog net, with pvc and 4 inch netting , not the heavy stuff your using now, temu has some that are 3 dollars ,and have a single 315watt cmh or a 300watt led for overhead and 300 watts of side lighting using 4ft tubes hung horizontal , as the side lighting. Fyi for the best yield in a 3x3 , veg plants till 12 to 16 inches tall, put in 1 gallon fabric pots in coco/perlite 80/20 mix or 70/30 and place nine in your 3 x 3. This is a 1 plant per square foot setup, it is perfect for a 3 x 3.

Heat in the summer would be my biggest concern, but if you can manage it, the results are definitely worth it.
I’m thinking led strips would be better than boards? Easier to set up?

This round you may need to snap some necks?

Awesome Dave. Appreciate the insight. I will definitely try to incorporate a lot of these techniques.

Hello lovely people. Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weekend with family. Want you all to know that God loves all of us sinners and the price for our salvation has already been paid in the blood of Jesus Christ. If you feel empty or are sad, it is most likely that your thirst for God's love. Pray to God and be healed. AMEN 🙏 ❤️ 😍.

I am very excited to show you all my tent. I was pondering a side lighting addition to my little 3x3 and I made it happen. I have like 8 quality LED fixtures for my 3x3. I decided to use one of my 250w lm301b fixtures for the side lighting. This light is running like 35% power as to not burn the closest plant. The top light is still my Spiderfarmer 300w running 70% power.
If stretch continues it's no worries as I have an extension on my tent with plenty of head room. My tent is 8' tall.
Anyways, check out the tent and let me know what yall think. I am currently like 2 weeks flowering. I don't even count anymore as with experience I know when they are done.

I just raised my top light up about 9" and raised the power to 80%. I anticipate some additional stretch. Temps are 85ish and humidity is 60% but it has been raining daily. Humidity is normally 35-45%. Have a blessed day all. 3770.jpg3769.jpg3768.jpg

Brother fyi 35 to 40 percent humidity is not good, it's actually terrible, stomatic pressure ensues, closing the cells dramatically , creating a terrible nutrient uptake capacity and transpiration rate. You should never go below 55, and that's the last two weeks of flower, follow a cannabis leaf temperature vpd chart as a guideline where you should be. Ideal temps in flower are 80 to 83 and 70 percent humidity. 1.0 kpa vpd is a baseline for most of flower, then higher 1.4 to 1.5 kpa the last two weeks.

Good stuff. Thank you. Might have to get a humidifier. You don't have any mold or bud rot issues at that humidity?
