Stubborn seed!

Ordinarily I'd just move on to a different seed, but this is the last seed from my favorite strain thus far, Vanilla Gelato. I soaked several seeds from a few strains on Thursday night, moved them to damp paper towels last night, and today put all of them except the Vanilla Gelato into Jiffy. That one seed isn't showing any signs of a tail yet and I'm hoping I can rescue it. What should I try next? Maybe spritzing it with hydrogen peroxide? Right now it's still in a tiny Tupperware-type box and a wet paper towel.

This has worked for me. This is a copy/paste of what I do when that one seed just won't crack

I use hydrogen peroxide every time. Sanding the shell definitely. I’ve had some issues in the past. I think we all have. I have had some that were very old. Couldn’t do anything with them at all. So I threw them in my flower garden. Not sure how many popped, but there was a bunch in a vegetable garden. Good luck I know how it is to feel like you got the last seed.

Gibberellic Acid. I haven’t messed around with this stuff since back in the early days of feminized seeds. This stuff will help yall with them stubborn seeds. I used to use it with a touch of peroxide to sterilize during a seed soak.

That’s pretty cool. I just dropped some just now. I do four parts tapwater to one part one percent hydrogen peroxide. There is one guy on another site. He said he uses nothing but peroxide. I don’t know about all that. But I have taken an empty paper towel rolls. Get a sheet of the wet and dry sandpaper. I use 400. Roll the sandpaper up put it in the paper towel tube. Put something over the ends. Some plastic bags or some little sandwich bags. You can use a rubber band around the bags. And shake. But be careful not to sand too much off.
