Taking trip dos and don'ts

I see this topic come up here and there with newer growers panicing. What do you do when you are going to take a trip and cannot attend to your plants? Thought itd be cool to see what some of the other phenohunters crew does to deal with this situation. personaly I over water and turn the lights low and put out extra stickys as I fight the war against the gnats. Some plants dont like wet feet or whatever. they can deal

I have everything I want and need for a happy life within an hour and a half drive so I happily I never have to deal with this. Looking forward to learning from others though.
 
I used to run Sunshine 4 in 7 gals & could go 5-7 days between feeds. Programs like open sprinkler are pretty cool for remote operations. Doing things remotely for too long does have its drawbacks tho, problems you would have noticed in person can get away from you i.e. PM, clogged emitters, fried solenoids, air pocket in a pump. Your system says it's running a scheduled feed but in reality it may not be. I'm a fan of automation it just requires proper maintenance & redundancies like anything else.
