"The Justice Department and its Drug Enforcement Administration did not immediately respond to requests for a comment. The decision to reclassify marijuana rests with the DEA."
The 2018 farm bill loophole laws are done. The new bill, that prohibits thca, delta 8, etc ,was passed in November of 2025 , it will go into effect November 12 of this year. This is not a new farm bill, but a extension of the 2018 farm bill. The extension provides funding through September of this year for the USDA. However when a new farm bill is negotiated, it is unlikely any revisions towards hemp derived substances will be changed from the 2025 extension , making them illegalit would still be illegal federally and I think it ends the hemp farm bill loopholes.
and from what I read all these farmers that switched over tor were switching over to growing hemp are now up the proverbial creek without a paddle. and will probably go bankruptmaking them illegal

didn't the farm bill kinda allow seeds to be sold too? the sellers coud claim they were no thc seeds and nobody would take the time to grow them out and prove them wrong??True
That "declaring no THC content" while actually selling THC product I think was one of the big problems for the govt. It became a big market right under their noses and now they want FEES!didn't the farm bill kinda allow seeds to be sold too? the sellers coud claim they were no thc seeds and nobody would take the time to grow them out and prove them wrong??

The market is filled with thca weed being sold online for 5 to 7 a lb , it is not sprayed , it's just weed. That loophole will end November of this year. We in MD are not a prohibition state, but for commercial guys such as myself, 40 dollar oz's and 500lbs kill the market, because the weed being sold legally under present loophole as thca is pretty damn good. I of course am not talking about synthetic weed, that can readily be found . We are just in Maryland, starting to crack down on illegal dispos and smoke shops that carry everything from flower to carts. The last I heard there were still over 1,000 illegal dispos in NYC, even with a city wide crackdown. Growing indoors for profit is a tough biz in this marketplace. Even many legal dispos here in MD, sell product out the back door to avoid high Maryland taxes. Fully autonomous Greenhouse production in a climate suitable state is the only way in this marketplace to be profitable.Seeds were sold before the farm bill.
It allowed a loop hole where weed sprayed with chemicals could be sold at gas stations in prohibition states.
Weed is legal in most states anyway and the rescheduling , something that everyone wanted has finally happened and it allows for tax deductions and more.
