Valley View 2024

Looking good! Do you get your soil tested at a lab? I've always wanted too, never have.

I will also try to shut down for the summer next year. Tried this year, but just couldn't do it. Energy bill was rough. But I needed the plants to keep me busy, and for mental health. It's the only consistent good thing I have going nowadays.
Thanks bro.

Yeah, this is the second time for sampling using Logan labs via Build A Soil. Last time I didn't pay for interpretaion and I also sampled both beds. That was just under a hundred bucks per iirc (spring of '23) and I saved a decent chunk of that by not "over" ammending. Mostly in an attempt to balance (reduce) organics and focus on minerals. Granted the ewc would be basically free if I didn't buy them but I didn't reammend with them at the start of runs like I had in the past, just for topdress.

Its been 6 or 7 cycles going pretty hard with mineral sulfates so I want to be sure I'm not over doing it there and I figure the extra 60 for interpretaion by someone who has degrees in this is pretty cheap for the potential knowledge.

It's the only consistent good thing I have going nowadays.
Not true. I think yer pretty good at navigating the ancilary bs to answer the questions you have to make it consistent. Molasses is stickey. ;)

Got the soil sample results and perscription. I have to figure out what I'm gonna do about water. Can't use the water softener water any more and it's taking out the uranium. I was mixing ro back with mostly treated and occasionally raw well but chlorides have increased to where they are potential issues. Rainwater and snowmelt may become components and I may need to consider Calcium Nitrate + ro in veg and get creative so I don't have hungry water. I don't wanna leach but that was also in the rx, it happens when the blumats runaway but not to the extent needed and I have no way to contain/control the runoff.

Definitely some other stuff I wasn't expecting and the pH did drop by 0.1. I have alot of the stuff on hand and some that I think I can substitute.

Outdoor did tremendous while I was on vacation need to do a full scan but aphids are mostly limited to jenny at this point. The CBG White is looking very nice as is the green volunteer and Forbidden V. Sour Bubble 12 is a bit leafy and Slymer is still hating life in my garden. GG4 may actually finish and the poppys are starting to bloom. Sour Bubble males are a bit out out from dropping and Skunk1 runt is looking better though its totally shaded.

Almost an inch and a half of rain to start the month and I don't intend to water the canna plants any more.

Indoor has thrips looking at least and I have decided to combat, dot have a fully formed plan yet but its delaying the start of my gorilla bubble / sour bubble hunt plan by a week or two at least.

If anyone knows whats going on with that tobacco plant let me know. I suspect possibly too much direct sun and wind or maybe rust?

Did some much neglected maintenance today. Air filter, floors, used zipties that sorta trash and other stuff that need washed like plant clips and tiedowns.

Got some heavy pressure to deal with and the seasonal change is gonna come soom enough the shed is gonna be a magnet for a bit. Average first frost is in just a couple days so I need to pay some more attention to the forecast.

Some of the columbine are making a second go at it and I need to do something anout the sawfly, thinking nematodes but the timing may not work, need to have something for the indoor soil and sf nematodes seem to be the right ones.

Just did pyganic and spino after heavy defol, put the second net in again it made perfect spport for gg4 last round, Skittle Mittens had other plans tho lol 😆 Damnit Freak!

Tops indacate lack of iron ime and this round is gonna be heavy on the foliars doing a sulfur burn so I am gonna wait a few weeks on any biocontrols. Got a lot of housekeeping to do still.

Watered with regalia and Bt and put some cards out after I foliar iron, calcium and grandevo. Sf nematodes are on rhe way, arbico is running a sale through this month iirc.

Fed build-a-bloom, big6 and mycocmplete as well. Took more secondarys and I'll pribably do another burn in a week or so, vinerate and epsom in a couple days.

Gonna target ~700 umol and 18in to canopy.

This morning the pros were calling for snow overnight but they've backed off that a bit so we'll see where it lands. Aspen are changing.
20240921_123038.jpgWe've seen low 40's a few times and the weather station logged an overnight low of 39.5 earlier this week.

Some pm on the outdoor so I hit them with zerotol a couple days ago and while I was trimming up noticed a few aphid hotspots so I hit them with Dr. Bronner's last night.

Green plant is still green, developing a very sweet nose and might just slide in. White cbg is getting a little color and may be done in a week or so. The Forbidden V is just starting to thicken up and isn’t likely to finish. Jenny is pretty much in preflower still but the Sour Bubble next to it has a chance. Slymer is the frostiest and still hating me, might get a couple joints. GG4 is trying to beast out in a floppy hot mess kinda way, the poppy plants are holding it up. It'll probably end up compost, too far out.

Light frost this morning, mid thirties, bad news for the aphids lol 😆.

Should be dry and warmer next several days, I'll be happy to make it to Oct 10, honestly every day above freezing is gravy at this point. Gotta get the hoses disconnected and put away, drop a few trees for winter after next and split some that's been sittin for a bit for next year.

Damn she got some fat buds on her. Beautiful structure! Have you smoked this strain before or any cbg strains?
She is a looker for sure. First go at this one and first cbg. Not sure exactly when I'll harvest, I'll probably take at least a few branches this weekend. I'd like to pull a little thc so I'm gonna push maturity as far as I can.

I was able to convert that In my head.
Watch out world !!
Mr J is sharp today

Upper 60's lower 40's soil temp ~55 as of a few days ago, the raised beds are tight at 50, water temp is almost 60.

Any day on the White cbg

Everything else will at least another week if the forecast pans out. Only two light frosts so far, I entered a cup and I'd like to enter at least one of my outdoor. Might have to do a partial sequential early harvest just so it can dry proper.

I think I'll actually make it to next Monday with this one.

It's progress is crawling though so I'll be happy with what I get. Soil temp was 47 before the snow.

Chopped SourBubble 12 yesterday (pic is from a couple days ago)

It was kinda a reveg but it never got back to more than 3 blades. Could be nutrient or soil health but Jenny seemed to do ok right next to it. Jenny pretty well finished but is covered in aphids so it's going to compost. Slymer got chopped, but then I saw how bad the aphids were on it and it went to compost.

Not sure the red shade cloth did anything for finish time, I'll hang more of it next year just because it looks cool. Weather was good this year. A few light frosts and even with about an inch and a half of snow it didn't actually get below freezing last night. Thinking next year I'll go for purple in the volunteer patch. Definitely need to work with some known fast finishers too.

Hard freeze two nights ago but last night was mid thirties and next couple days look good. Tuesday is looking like a possible last day but we'll see.

I chopped most of the volunteer and a few colas off Forbiden V last night. The Sour Bubble 12 went to compost, totally f'd the drying, the buds were empty and airy, there was definitely something wrong with that plant too. I might extract the White CBG but it got thrashed too. Temps got fuckey and I didn't set the area up well at all. At least there is still some on the vine and I got one of my tents set up.

I'll take at least a few more colas off the hemp and I am kicking around the idea of giving Jenny a baking soda foliar and vinegar bath 🛁 before a tripple rinse in Zertol.

Some areas need more wind protection so I'm thining I'll put in a few vertical pieces of the red shade cloth and while I'm at it I might as well grab a few other fun colors.
