Vapor Brothers VB-1.5

Package in the mail today!

I wanted a better vape and decided it's time for a desktop. I already have a Davinci IQ2 and a Dynavap I picked up for when the Davinci is giving me problems. Since ball vapes seem to be the thing, I wound up deciding on the Vapor Brothers VB-1.5. The company is celebrating their 25 anniversary this year (with decent anniversary discounts all year) and is one of the OG's of the vape world. About a year ago some Youtuber came out with a video where he did a ball mod on his VB-1. Word got around pretty quick about how it took the VB-1 to the next level and very quickly Vapor Brothers came out with the VB-1.5, with the ball mod right from the factory.

I called them to ask a few questions and ask for tips on what options to include in my order. Along the way I mentioned that I'm a cancer patient and he told me about their program to sell refurb units to medical patients at a steep discount. They have a few options for different levels of condition of the box. I won't go into their pricing here, but if you think you might qualify give them a call, it's worth it.

This thing packs a punch way beyond anything I've experienced before. All I can say is, I wholeheartedly endorse this thing.

It's a good day.

Havent tried this ill admit but i absolutely love vapes, been sold on vaping since 2018 when a Dynavap M got me off smoking.Like Bullfrog said i smoke a blunt every so often but could no longer see myself smoking daily like i used to.

Nowadays i use a diy ball vape called The Pinkie primarily and jump between that and my Da Buddha.

Congrats, I have a B-0 ball vape and love it. Hope it helps in your recovery. I know I noticed a difference in my lung health right away. Still do the occasional doob but they're not as enjoyable as they used to be.
It’s funny you say that I have asthma and can hit my bong and joints and feel fine. If I vape I struggle to breathe for a while after so I don’t vape it kills my lungs.

I looked at the B-0 and it's siblings, the Screwball, and other similar ball vapes. I admit one thing I really liked about this one is it's so simple and doesn't have those exposed hot metal parts. I have pets, plus I'm enough of a klutz myself that I like the safety aspect and I really don't feel like I'm giving anything up by making this choice. Lee at the Tabletop Bong channel on Youtube has done some great reviews on the VB boxes, along with some others. These have a great reputation for realizbility and come from a company known for great customer service.

I do feel theres an adjustment period for whatever reason, when i first started vaping id be coughing till my eyes watered, after a week of regular vaping (3 bowls a day spread throughout) i earn my lungs so to speak. When i take a break its right back to choking. When i vape regularly smoking feels harsh.Obviously your mileage may vary however

I should say I noticed less hacking up the black goo I used to when I burned weed. For sure I get far bigger hits, way more terps with the vape which can be a strain on the lungs. I can spend a fat doob worth of bud in about 3 hits with the vape. I've had joints last what seemed like a hundred hits. My transportation for the last 25 years has been a pedal bike, it's pretty hilly up here too and I never walk hills. Lungs get a good workout at times and the feeling is similar to the aftereffects of the vape.

After a good 4 or 5 hit session, I can feel it in my lungs for sure but only for a few minutes. I used to hack up black goo in the morning until I got the vape. When at the farm I smoke joints, if I do more than two my throat will be scratchy and dry feeling the next morning.

No idea if it's actually better for the lungs or not. But my lungs feel cleaner, and I know I'm not taking in butane fumes like I was hitting the pipes.

Yeah, if I had pets or young kids the b-0 would be a no go. I'll have to check them out. Not really in the market now but someday I might be. Looks awesome and I can imagine it hits like a sledgehammer.

Visitors watch me hit my vape, then they try and get greedy, choke and cough up their lungs. I have iron lungs. Makes me laugh my ass off every time.

I recently replaced my old VB-1 with a clean and much newer $50 ebay unit, been considering doing the mod for a while, rubies are cheap enough.

I will say you have to be careful not to turn it up too high, past noon on mine and it can ignite, which tastes absolutely horrendous.

That said, I use mine every day with very few issues, it's a super reliable vape.
I tend to vape at lower temps most of the time. I still get plenty of effect and it's milder.
I hear the rubies really help with low temp extraction, lower temps also let the terpenes shine. Sour strains were always my favorite in the vape.

That's what I have learned, from watching a number of videos on it. If you look at the pic I posted ago, I was vaping well below that last night, around 10:00 o'clock. According to the paperwork you only go to straight up for flower, higher for concentrate, or all the way to the right for self-cleaning.

I hope you didn't pitch your old VB-1, they're great about refurbing old units.

I blame my first vape bro's vape box from 20 years back for making it impossible for me to enjoy handheld vapes, that pull is just so natural feeling and easy it's hard to get used to anything different. Awesome vapes. I had one of their vapor genies too with a weird stone in it ...but that genie taught me breathe control and was my first experience with restrictive pulls. Didn't like how it made my head feel...nor Magic Flights to davinci's etc, you just find yourself wanting that desktop vape pull after experiencing it. I don't use my vape box anymore it's used to death... not sure how the new ones are but i recommend taping a coffee filter over the bottom intake hole if they don't include one these days - really keeps internals from getting caked in hair and other gunk🤙

That's rough! An old roommate had the same issue with inhaling vapor and smoke, even the fresh plant harvested affects his asthma or in the same room as vapor/smoke. So only eats edibles, but i'm trying to remember this one thing he uses. Some kind of whip it or vapor extractor looking thing he puts his stuff into and it just releases it into drinks for him, co2, nitrous, I don't know... was many years back. It was his favorite thing though, and I wish I could remember! He easily made infused sodas with it. I'm the opposite, sensitive to most edibles depending on how derived, I love thoroughly emulsified edibles especially in creams, the astringency of most edibles people have given me just hurt my gut otherwise, gummies and all that. I'm a classic brownie eater :p First brownie is the bio-assay for dosing the rest of them...rambling, if anyone knows what that extractor drink thing might be let me know! I've been thinking about it lately and seeing if I can use emulsified stuff in it.

If your box vape is from Vapor Brothers, give 'em a call to see how much it would be worth to have it refurbed, and preferably upgraded with their ball mod. They're really good about that.

I'm interested in eventually making infused drinks. The only method I know of so far is with green dragon, but I'd like to find a way without alcohol in the finished product.

I have a B-0 ball vape and love it.

Congratulations on what looks like a great purchase. It's good to see the industry is finally working on form, not just function, and covering up the hot metal. I have a shiny new scar on my hand from a recent mishap with my Zero.

I've been wanting a back-up desktop unit for a while and I finally ordered a Thermal Twist Ball-less injector Vape (USA link provided). A Vap Bros or another Cannabis Hardware unit wasn't in the budget, but this has a good reputation in the community and is almost 50% less than what I paid for the B-0. (I got the stainless steel version). I should have it by week's end and can review it if anyone is interested.

Looks like a nice bundle at a good price, awesome! I'd love to hear how it compares to the B-0.

I've ordered from that place a couple times now and they've always been great and ship really fast and they're reasonably priced.
