"The Philosopher, is Stoned"
I think they were my mentors! Soitenly
Claustrophobia is awful. It can get you any time. I've spent countless hours working in confined spaces, often encumbered with safety harnesses and SABA/SCBA gear and was generally fine, but I can remember at least three times when I nearly panicked.I've been really into watching cave exploration videos lately as a mechanism to help with my extreme claustrophobia. My basement is a torture chamber. It's working. The tighter the cave the bigger this place feels. The 6ft ceiling feels gigantic compared to where John Jones got stuck in Nutty Putty cave. Poor fella, rip.
I've had friends with more sensible pasts and safer careers try to get me to do adrenaline junkie stuff. It's hard to make them understand that when you regularly risk your life and health at work, finding ways to do it as leisure just does not appeal in the slightest. You could not pay me enough to have to go spelunking like that.

Ya the action adventure twins are insane and not careful. They are wild men with completely no care for anything except that thrill of crawling into the worst places on earth just to see some flowstones and gems. I can now easily work in my tiny basement without any claustrophobia.I've had friends with more sensible pasts and safer careers try to get me to do adrenaline junkie stuff. It's hard to make them understand that when you regularly risk your life and health at work, finding ways to do it as leisure just does not appeal in the slightest.
When you've been legitimately concerned you were about to die, replicating that feeling for "fun" seems insane, to me anyway.
