What's On Your Mind?

You don’t have to prove to me your an idiot, your word is good!
Oh man. In the second photo, the right foot, I just noticed a blister forming under the blister, right by the center of the whorl. What kind of a dummy walks for miles on those?

I've been gimping along for the last couple days.
Wednesday I took my car to a shop in the city. It was a weird issue so I was willing to pay the premium that comes with going to a dealership. It ended up taking most of the day so I just wandered around Edmonton's west end for the better part of 6 hours. The problem was that I stupidly grabbed a comfy pair of loafers instead of decent walking shoes,

Within a few hours one foot started hurting and eventually the ball of each foot was one massive blister. By this time, I had gotten lost in a fucked up residential area and spent over an hour finding my way out, with each step being absolute misery. I don't uber and there were no taxis around so I just gritted my teeth and kept walking. By now my legs were cramping and getting sore in other places from walking weird. By the time I picked up my car, even pushing the clutch hurt.

I managed to work half a day yesterday, and most of it was spent out in the gravel lot where every stone caused more pain. I shut it down at noon and this morning I let the boss know I wasn't going to be in.

I may slip down to the river at some point as once I'm set up it's mostly stationary but even that sounds like more misery than it's worth. It sucks to waste a weekend but it's all my own fault. What a dumb thing to do.

I took a walk to the frozen lake last winter and walked all day on the ice. Got blisters halfway through the day and suffered the rest of the day. Didn't do shit for two days after that. Them dogs gotta work up to that type of all day abuse.

Apparently some of us need protection from ourselves?
SAFETY MEETING-
Outdoor garden has started and people are putting stakes (1/2” x 3’rebar or sim?) which could pose a potential risk to one’s peepers!
I recently picked up some rebar caps to prevent gouging an eye out checking plants.
Turns out, they are excellent as a crutch to get back up.IMG_6620.jpeg

Up to 100 mm of rain to fall here over the next few days. That's more that we got all last summer. This after a heavier than normal snowfall both locally and in the mountains. The water table will benefit greatly but there will be some flooding too.
The farm where I work got all the seeding done but anyone who isn't finished will be screwed as the fields will be too wet to work for a couple weeks. There was still standing water from the melt in a lot of places and this rain will just create quagmire.

I was just at the river and watched it rising as I fished. It's up 40 or 50 cm over the last couple days. I'm hoping it's a year where it rises a couple more meters as that creates some really cool opportunities. Last time it got that high, I caught a sturgeon on a jig and minnow under a slip bobber only a few feet off shore. :)
