What's On Your Mind?

^^^ The summons didn't work. :(

-------------------

I work with some "characters" (can also be pronounced "hillbilly" or "criminal" or "hillbilly criminal" ;) ).
No big deal. I've lived on the rough side of things all my life. I'm more comfortable with that than fancy folk.

There is one guy though that is repulsive. Just a foul excuse for a human being in every way possible: a loud, racist, misogynistic, homophobic bully. He originally tried his shit with me, but I told him clearly that wasn't happening and continue to shut him down every time he comes into my lane.(clown ain't in the top 100 of scary folks I've known over the years)

Anyway, as I was leaving work this afternoon, I had to brush past a Mountie in the office. I asked a coworker who was leaving at the same time what was up and she said the cop was looking for my repulsive coworker. Fingers crossed he finally got nailed doing something serious enough to get popped for.

Did your crows return yet?

Did your crows return yet?
That is amazing timing for your question.

I have heard them around the block recently, and some food has been disappearing, but that's all.

I just got back from fishing. There was one in the big tree above the deck when I left and when I got home I could hear some chatter. I put out some food and had a seat and listened to 3 of them discuss the situation. There were two flybys to have a look before I went inside. Within a minute or so, two crows were on the platform, feeding and drinking.:clapping:

They are a different crew from the ones that disappeared. One looks really old, with little white patches on the chest and may be a returner from a previous year. It could even be my old pal Scruff.
I've accepted that Noche is likely gone for good, but it's nice to know my reputation with the locals is such that I have a waiting list to adopt me and my yard. ;)

Oh my…
I’ve been helping an elderly lady who doesn’t have a clue — even though I’ve explained the gender thing many times.
This is a plant she grew from some regular seeds I gave her.

Ever take someone under your wing, then regretted it?

Hell I gave her a couple of gorgeous clones in 2-gallon buckets back in April — and she hasn’t repotted them!
No doubt they are root bound to the max and won’t produce squat.
She lives an hour away or I would have just done the work for her.

What would you do?

She is old, the mind goes.
Take the hour drive, put the clones next to it, and bask in the joy that you will have ensured she has enough seed to see her lifetime out.

Have a cup of tea with the old duck, talk about her youth, enjoy the company and head home.

Then you also have this point in time to chuckle about for next year when you pop around to do a good dead and help her out.
Glass half full or empty scenario, depending on how you look at it.

Ever injure yourself while sleeping?

I managed to screw up my knee last night. Been awake most of the night and finally got up around 4 AM as there was no way to lay without discomfort or pain.
I've done this a few times and it's worked itself loose after a while. Hopefully that happens again.

On the plus side, I hobbled out in the dark to check the traps and there is a fat rodent in the rolling death bucket. It's not a squirrel, but reducing the rodent population around the house is always a positive.

If it's the back side of your knee try this -
Lay on your stomach bend knee to ~45° SLOWLY lower your foot taking several breaths. If on inside of knee rotate ankle so big toe points inward, if outside rotate so big toe points out. Do 2-3 times and wouldn't hurt to do the un injured leg too.

Foot gets caught in sheets, then I gotta somehow escape whatever perilous situation I'm in
I'm a side sleeper, so I think I get a clump of sheet or blanket under the side of the joint and the leverage strains it.

It feels like it's getting a little better. I took a couple ibuprofen, but I don't like masking the pain as it encourages activity instead of required rest.

Before the 2018 Farm Bill, possessing viable cannabis seeds carried a much higher risk of legal consequences than what growers face under the upcoming December 2026 federal rules, although still shite - they pulled a canada 2004 on us. got all the growers cozy in the open, seedbanks, insta, tiktok, podcasters, etc, big bro got a feel for it not in the shadows. now they clamping down again with all that knowledge, and trying to close the loopholes and make like Pinkerton/PharmaBro - but with reclassification I don't think anyones going to be doing life for beans (wouldn't put it past them though) ...the worry I noticed some folks having - that after November, acquiring/trading/possessing beans will be at an unprecedented danger level or hit a brickwall - is not the case in my mind, its just back to ye olde underground forum days i remember...thankful for this forum keepin a thumpin heart!

If anything it may cause demand marketside cause the higher risk. we are just going back in time here, which does suck - and now gift cards are harder to use online on top of that. trades being the absolute safest if done with someone you trust, little crumbs. the act of trading wont become more illegal in november, it will be possession of seeds, novelty or not unless you can prove sterilized. .whether it was obtained retroactive to november or not doesnt matter...

It's like they are hinting to keep your bean freezer in an incinerator with remote access if you got a crazy large vault. Logs from fallen tree's out in the bush make great backup stashes, though not temp controlled. Caves if ya gottem! I got to wondering, if I wanted to preserve certain genetics as an endall failsafe, I could ship to a spanish collective, beans are pretty safe there if with trusted people. just definitely don't want your identity linked to that package going overseas after november, actually i dont think its ever been "safe" to ship beans overseas from usa to EU 😅 and if something is seized and it has a meticulously organized vast collection you didn't divide the beans out from, that's a doozy.

These random thoughts I had to vent. I guess I feel like november will be part of the descheduling brickwall we sit at for the next 20 years or more, still federally illegal, they're just chipping away at our freedom to library our genetics, to sow our own medicine.. . I started to warm up to all this progress since 2018, I really thought I'd die of old age not feeling like a criminal. Imagine if big bro had AI/NSO's Pegasus at their disposal in 2004.

It's not like seedpacks are all over the street and wedged in chainlink fences like escort cards in vegas, but if they gonna act like it and enact threats to our livelihood over what we collect... overgrow 3.0! spread all the love you can
