Sending love and positive energy your way @UncleB. Very sorry for your loss. I hope the renewed connection with your sister brings you both much joy and solace.
Thank you G ?
Definitely has been a relationship builder. I think we both earned each other's respect this year. I set some things in motion a while back w/ my Dad that have (and will) benefit her and her children. It kind of established the tone for how things were going to go forwards. Real peaceful and friendly. Plan to keep things that way.

@tarheels2000 , @Ramjet159 Thank you both. We're doing ok down here. It's definitely strange not having any parents.

I'm going to drop the full name of
Lou Gehrig's disease, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, just because 3 letter words like ALS aren't searchable. If someone in the future comes across this looking for any insight, please feel free to reach out. I was with him from the beginning, and was at every appointment and clinic till the end.

Who knows why but after reading your post a few days ago, and I mean right after, a story came on the radio about a controversial drug treatment for als forgive me I don't recall the name. Ultimately it educated me on the disease course, I don't know what other to say than sending positive juju your way B.

Thanks for the good vibes @SSGrower .
Yes, once you're aware, it seems like you see more of it. Back in the late Spring, I was getting my Dad set up with a wheelchair accessible van. In talking to the sales lady, I asked if she's seeing an increase of ALS people coming in. Without hesitation, she said "Yes, and there's more older adults (the current standard is approx 50yrs), and we're now seeing more older women".

Strange.

It really bothered my Dad as to what caused his case. The ALS drugs currently offered, only claim to provide a few extra months of life. I searched for any natural remedy, and there just isn't much, but did find a claim of Aayhuasca possibly being of benefit.

Our pursuit of the psychedelics may actually be the best path forward for more reasons than one....

Yeah bro it appears we as a species made one MAJOR mistake allowing all these plants to be tossed into a do not touch category and I'm glad we're finally looping back around to "OK just yank and the head comes right out of the rectum" approach.

Just a few pics in case a chop happens as opportunity presents.

Some plants from @Brokehoe made it through the torture chamber.

Black and Blue Cookies.
Lost all but this one due to the heat.

Jalabad star? That's exsitu 1988 soviet withdrawal Afghan correct? What's it like
Yes. This is my first attempt at Jalalabad. Seeds were procured last year. Plants survived the extreme summer down here. Structure is more delicate than I anticipated.

A couple of earlier views here and here might show a little more of where things were heading.

Used the male to pollinate a branch on each plant. Seeds are visible.
Would be happy to try the hose washer tek and fire some off, if you think you'd like to try.

Sounds like you can use a cooler climate :)

The strategy at the moment to to let nature do the selecting. Over time, we should have some lines that are guaranteed winners outdoors in the low desert.

My ultimate goal is to isolate the most incredible Cheese variety that's ever graced our earth, and through selection develop it's resilience and ability to endure the Sonoran climate while rotting into a pile of goop anywhere above the 40° parallel....
