I'm going to be making an order from the guys in Afghanistan (Afghan landrace seeds) for 100 seeds. I wanted to see if there is 1 person who'd like to go halfers with me on this purchase. If so lets take it to private please. They are ok with me posting this but we have to chat a bout the deets in private. Screenshot 2022-10-14 at 12-48-11 Afghan red pomegranate strain.png

He wanted to charge me in us dollars
600 per 100 seeds
2000 per 500 seeds
3500 per 1000 seeds.
I was only after 20 odd of the red meat he called it.
Im going to order through landrace warden and get all his varieties. He looks like he has the same plant from the same region from what I can ascertain. Have a look at his stuff Krop duster too. There are a few around.

The landrace warden person seems to have Pakistani strains maybe some Afghani too. Not sure where their list is so can't comment specifically on what he has. With Landraces Most of them are named after the location they were grown in. Then the color of the plant might be added to that. So Maruf Red, Maruf Black, Afghani Purple, Kandahar Green. Each location will have its variances over time from inbreeding and male selection. If you're getting seeds of a similar name but from a slightly different region they will have differences to them. Also because they are open pollinated landraces within each strain there will be more geno-variance than our inbred hybrids. They tend to leave all the females and when maturing starts they take down all the weak males and leave only the strong males. Then as the females mature they can see the best females to take their seeds from. A double selection with men first ladies second. But even with that you're getting lots of geno-variance. I guess what I am saying is unless you're getting from the same grower same region same harvest there will be difference within plants that have the same name. I tend to describe what I'm looking for terpene wise. Once it's dead and turned into a concentrate I don't see what color it is or what it looks like. I just taste it MMMMmmmm.......

The Durand Line is the 2,640-kilometer (1,640-mile) border between Afghanistan and Pakistan so lots of room to grow lots of different types of plants.

This is why I'd take a GPS with me to Afghanistan so I had exact location info for seeds. I've had Mazar crosses and MAN I'd love the original, but not yet at least haha. I did have some Tashkurgan growing this last season and it smelled like Berries. It's on the border between China and Afghanistan and the seeds were apparently collected in the Northern part of Afghanistan. Sadly it was a male and had to go but it was hard taking him down.

The entire area...... Shit I hope they have a board of tourism soon! Imagine walking on the Kush Mountains but not in India, or seeing Mazar-I-Shariff.... I could follow my nose allllll day :)

They usually say wide leaf or narrow leaf. Maybe compared to their wide leaf plants that Mazar one seemed narrow.

This is one of their indica wide leaf Red Pomegranate.

Yeah I've heard from the Indian Landrace that some of the Afghani Indica plants are fully capable of producing the NLD. Also heard the smells can go from sweet berries to raw sewage which I have to say would be one interesting pheno!

LOVE that plant! I like those thick leaves for some reason LOL.

Dasht Desert, High Altitude desert (upto 10 weeks)

Tirah Valley, Hindu Kush Khyber Agency (7-9 weeks)

You know to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if an Afghan pheno popped out a smell of Cheese. Actually I think there IS a strain named after a Cheese making region of Afghanistan already but that's a cross I think. But the genetic make up of some of the stuff from Afghanistan seems to be a pretty high up list of "smells like "WTF"" LOL.
