An imagination taller than the Rocky Mountains. A wanderlust that has taken him further than a Northern Ontario bush pilot. A guitar, a pair of boots, and a knack for writing songs about Canada can only begin to describe the man that Canada has come to know and love as Stompin’ Tom Connors.

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Tom’s youngest years were spent living hand-to-mouth with his mother, until he was taken from her and placed in the care of the Children’s Aid. From there, he was adopted into the Aylward family of Skinner’s Pond, PEI, where he lived until he began his hitchhiking career at the age of 15.

Tom traveled to almost every corner of Canada throughout the next 13 years – from the rocky coastline of Newfoundland to the arctic desolation of the Yukon – and a hundred thousand points in between. He could rarely be found without his guitar; even when he had a “real” job (which never lasted long), he would still write and sing songs about the people he met and the places he visited.

Because Margo’s got the cargo, and Jimmy’s got the rig!
He got his start in a hotel called The Maple Leaf, in Timmins, Ontario!??

Same place Shania Twain was scouted out!..
I recall a comedian, maybe even the guy you posted a few pages back, who was from the same place. This was during her peak when she was everywhere.
The comedian figured that he might be the second most famous person from Timmins, which was like being the second most famous person from Bethlehem.

I also knew some people who met Shania before she made it big. I was told she is really nice but not at all smart.

The Boss is best known for a number of headline-making incidents including eating black bears, surviving being hit by a train and Bantle said the bear is likely to have fathered 70 per cent of the cubs in the region.

I bought a 100' roll of 1/4 irrigation tubing to fill my aquarium.
Last week, the dry run went swell. Afterwards, I coiled up the tubing in the basement, it stays above freezing down there so I figured I would be okay. There was enough residual snot in the line today, that by the time I had run out the tubing, it had frozen tight enough and would not let water pass.

I hate getting beat, but this is something only time will solve. In the future I will have to run the hose out with the water running. The only other solution I have conceived is attaching an air pump to the hose when not in use. Let that sucker putput away for a week to remove all of the moisture.

I was liking my little scheme because it did not require making any connections. The faucet stayed attached to the quarter inch tubing ,and all I had to do was run it out.

I'm thinking now about a stopper that I once saw for a John guest fitting. I could pull the stopper and attach the pump quick enough. When it came time to fill, I could remove the pump and reinstall the stopper so I don't get back flow through my aquarium air pump,,,,

Nope, a tap on a tee. Then I can still be lazy.

Can always throw a water line heater into the mix as well.. burry your outside line at least 2 feet..

that line goes out to the horse waterer, it has braided heat line that runs the length.. pipe insulation is another godsend here too!.. It sucks carrying 30 litres of water for each horse every day! ( sometimes twice)… ??(Funny they don’t have a sore back icon huh, it would be really hard to call it a smiley tho I guess..)lol

You could also T in a weed sprayer, you know the hand pump up the tank with air, pretty cheep at the dollar store or princess auto. New of course. Most are 1/4" hose.

I did manage to get the aquarium filled last night. The hose had managed to thaw out in the cellar. I turned on the water before I ran out the tubing. Everything went well.
I don't know how sustainable this is, the tubing carries a wicked coil memory and is prone to kink.
It takes a good 45 minutes to draw 50 gallons from that quarter inch tubing.
I am getting away with this at minus 15 Celsius. I may have to tap the hot water tank to get away with this at -35 or so.

I am at peak water consumption, and have and only filled it now for the second time.

There is probably a better way to do this. At present I am still 100x better then carrying water everyday.

In my grow area I have a garden hose hooked to a little giant pump with a float switch in a bucket. All my runoff waste water goes to the bucket and is automatically pumped out when needed. The hose goes up into the non insulated attic and out to a big tank. I routed the hose up way high then down to the tank. Basically a big upside down V. It auto drains on both ends. Must have no low spots that will hold water. I think I froze it off once in the tuning stage but has been good for 3 years. May not be an option for you but if you have space it could work.
