I agree for .177 but .22 pellets have way more thump -- especially at longer distances. Those crossman hollow points actually suck.......you'll have squirrels walking away or dragging themselves away. Keep them for practice and get some pointed pellets.
Those will do just fine!
And the piranha has an edge that should punch clean holes in targets, like a semi-wadcutter.I like these hollow points....Pirrahna!

OMG I'm going down the rabbit hole now!
This guy is using cleaning pellets as sabots to jack up velocity.
A lot of people love the JSB Hades, and unless it's a typo, the .177 version has a BC that's supreme in .177 @ .029

Funny think about water; Very good at absorbing! about 3 feet of water will keep you safe from an AK-47, 50 Cal, and more.... 9mm will go in more but that's because that particular bullet doesn't have the velocity of the "big ones".
It's pretty cool though seeing a bullet the size of a Banana shatter in the water within 36 inches haha.
Yeah 1100 fps will make a supersonic crack, just like a real 22.Before I got arthritis so bad i can’t cock it I shot a beeman 177 cal 1100fps with a 4x scope I originally bought it to keep up on my shooting practice and for grouse while elk hunting I “assumed” it would be quiet like the Crossman 750 177/bb gun I had when growing up but I was wrong lol shooting a bolt action 22cal with CB long bullets quieter than my Beeman was and deadly on grouse
Looks dangerous!
Although my closest neighbors are a mile plus I still pay attention many many years ago one of my stray bullets hit a house one in a million happening no one was hurt but the lesson stuck with me!!Yeah 1100 fps will make a supersonic crack, just like a real 22.
Did you ever try bigger pellets to make the gun subsonic?
If was hunting with a .177 the JSB Hades would be my first choice.

In a real .22 firearm 'CB' ammo by CCI kicks butt! Super quiet.
A little light for medium sized critters like groundhogs, but perfect for rabbits, squirrels, and rodents.
Unfortunately, the bullet weighs 29 grains, which carries too much energy down-range for me to use in the ol backyard.
The laws (and attitudes) are different for air rifles vs firearms.
I tried and shot many types of pellets it was fun to see and hear how each shot accuracy was fairly constant but the effect on a grouses head varied greatly! Found to fast to hard round allowed them to take off!! It immediately knocked them out but unless you got right to them an rang their necks they took off to die somewhere else.. I was going to switch to 22cal air gun more weight energy absorbed by grouse but since I am to crippled to use most single Cock guns I went 22cal with CBl longs I tried CB shorts but the longs are a better round with little change in sound.. I really enjoyed shooting and considered going to a co2 tank operated air gunYeah 1100 fps will make a supersonic crack, just like a real 22.
