its like getting a holographic magic card that is sweet and not a land card or something

Speaking to my should right here...

But you hit the nail on the head. There's so many banks now you need to set yourself apart somehow. Great Lakes has the most and best freebies, a great selections and good prices. JBC and DCSE have the best payment options (stateside anyways), good quality freebies even if they are fewer, and excellent customer service to boot. So far Cool Beans has been inferior on every note.

They act like the grab bag is a great deal and on a normal day it would be... $100 for $120 pack is pretty nice. But it was 4/20.... that's same Mads Med pack was 20% off everywhere! So my money would've gone much further elsewhere...

Oh well, there's still time for them to make it right so we'll see. When mistakes are made is the best time for your customer service to shine.

And I'm stoked on the Cosmic Wisdom stuff anyways. Old school Afghani and a Purple NL2 Haze

I think Great Lakes Genetics has one of the best freebie seed bonuses in the business. Being Canadian they also boosted the freebies to offset the t shirt required for stealth shipping for 30 bucks.

DCSE doesnt ship up here or I would have surely tried them.

Anyone who says freebies doesnt matter does not understand the minds of the people that buy the seeds. Newbs LOVE the boost to their hoard and a for me its like getting a holographic magic card that is sweet and not a land card or something...

I love a deal...freebies really sweeten it for me BIG TIME !

I dont order from many USA seedbanks but when I do...they have GOOD freebies!!

Not random 3 packs and shit.
When we ordered in house....well i could care less. I will make MOAR seeds :D freebies by ME

Hey, curious if you got your order from Cool Beans yet? I got mine today and I'm kind of disappointed, but I'm not sure if I just had unreasonable expectations lol
I have not received my order yet. I got a tracking number and when I check it, there’s no “arrival” date. Blaming that on the P.O. though. I will definitely report when my order is received. Bummer you had a disappointing experience.

For what it’s worth, my first purchase through them was shortly after they had “opened”. The standing offer was, the first 50 orders gets a Cosmic Wisdoms Michigani. I verified through IG before I ordered to make sure there were some left and they said yes. When I received my order, the freebie was a MMS pack. This was an ok replacement, but still not what was expected. A week later I had made a comment about it (not a bitching comment, just a “I’m slightly disappointed” comment) on a post by Cosmic Wisdom. No bullshit, within four days of that comment, I had a pack of Michigani in my mailbox from Cool Beans! They never said they were going to send it, they just did. This is why I recommended them. Hopefully they make it right for you.

There are more and more good seed banks every year. These banks need to step their game up .
While I do agree with you on the customer service side of things, a question that just popped into my head is, exactly how much more free shit can they keep giving out? Really when you think about it, seed banks give out waayyy more free stuff than any other retailer in the history of retail! The one time I ordered from DCSE I didn’t get any free packs from them, only the breeder (our own @Frimpong ) attached freebie. The exchange there was, I may not have received freebies, but it was smooth payment without having to mail cash and delivery was extremely prompt......faster than I can receive my order from GLG and they are literally an hour and a half drive from my house!

Yeah, for me it's more than freebies, it's overall experience. A seedbank has to set itself apart somehow. For GLG it's the freebies, the service, the selection , DCSE and JBC it's the excellent customer service and better payment options, and again sekection. Also all three have really good sales. GLO is just crazy cheap. Even Neptune, which kind of sucks, has exclusive genetics and a huge selection to rope you in. Right now I feel like Cool Beans does nothing better than anyone else. That's not to say they're bad, just that there's so many great seedbanks now, for a variety of reasons, they have to excel in some aspect to get repeat business. For you it sounds like their customer service was a home run, and like I said, whoever runs their IG was great so maybe they'll change my opinion.

This year funds were pretty tight with everything we have going on over here so my focus was best pricing, not best freebies. GLG was crushing it on freebies, but I was able to source my purchases from United and DCSE for less overall, with far less freebies. Ive never been let down by DCSE (several purchases) or United (second purchase), great communication and quick af shipping. At this point the deep coffers can seem somewhat "burdensome", so it was a relief not to add anything I would be too curious to give away, and too uncertain of to run in place of other deliberately purchased genetics. I almost picked up some Rare Dankness for their freebies at North Atlantic Seed, but alas I hit my budget picking up a plethora of Eso's gear (money muuuch better spent, 30 fems, 20 regs for $96 v. 12 regs for $92), largely due to the fact that I have too many regs to run as is and that deal couldnt be beat.

The whole freebies is Nice But Let's Be Honest..
If you're shopping for freebies to justify the price tag for the 1 pack of beans you're buying..
Maybe you're trying to stay up with the jones next door and you need to look at other places...
Really whare else in this world do you expect freebies in your dealing ??

When you buy a car do you get 3 extra????

I've heard very mixed things about MSNL so I've never ordered from them. Usually I just stick to my big three but sometimes I get lured into trying someone new looking for a particular strain or breeder

I agree that buying direct from the breeder is usually a better experience but I also get why some breeders choose to use banks. Banks increase your exposure and you only have to mail one package to one place. If your doing all the shipping direct yourself that's more time and more money. Pros and cons to everything.

Anyways, I think I'm done buying seeds for a while... but I've said that before...

Msnl was just a nightmare for me but his doing something right cause he in business and alot of people use him....
The whole idea of buying beans overseas is a no go for me anymore anyways..
The more things open up the better things get in the states for getting whatever you need...

I agree 100% for the beeder going though a bank is the way to go..
Unless
You have a Name in the Business Allready.... otherwise you're going to spend way to much time trying to make a dime....
Hell if no one knows you're out there just like anything you're Fucked...

But as the person who is buying let's be real.. I still want the Best Bang for my Buck....

So as like anything else I try to cut out the middle man......

I think I should shut up cause I'm sure I'm just pissing more peeps off around here..?

Yeah, like @GthaEnigma says it's just manipulating profit margins. The seedbanks make their profits on volume, so they are willing to make less per pack. They also ship so much they buy packing materials in bulk, at a discount. The breeders usually make less per pack when selling to the banks to begin with and their shipping and handling costs are higher, so they have less incentive to discount their packs.
