Acapulco Gold x Michoacán

I run 2 gal fabric pots in soil as well. I'm in the standard Peat, Compost, Perlite mix. I need to water everyday and when they really get going they are almost too DRY after 24 hours...missing a day here isn't an option or I will be in trouble pretty quick.

Yeah I'm going to have to check everyday just to be sure. They were so dry that they were hydrophobic. The water would instantly come out the bottom lol.

FWIW, a trick I like to use with fabric pots, place a plastic shopping bag in the fabric pot and tear out the bottom before adding your medium. Excess water will drain, but the sidewalls won't dry out as fast!

Well the top of that one isn’t getting any more light lol. I definitely don’t recommend letting them grow straight up in doors especially in a tent. Definitely keep them short going into flower and as they stretch, start bending and weaving them through a trellis.

If it were me I'd hard top that now. Done it before with zero negative impact. Just the top of that tallest cola.

IMG_3307.jpegIMG_3304.jpegOne thing that I noticed with the mom and what I’m also seeing here is that even though the plants are done stretching and have created a bunch of bud sites that will feel in and create a long cola, the individual buds continue to grow lengthwise for some time before fattening up. It’s so different than hybrids. I love the experience. Only plants I’ve really seen it on. I’m assuming it’s a sativa thing.

Such an impressive amount of stretch on those. Killer job so far! I liked a few sativas I’ve had, I just have a hard time committing to such a long flower period.... 🤣

How do you feel about bending those tops over? I do it often and really see a big benefit. If your interested, here's what I do....

Make sure they're watered well (makes stems more bendable without snapping them off). I'll pinch the area I'm trying to put the bend in and slowly and gently start twisting and bending the stalk. Make sure you take your time. They'll loosen while you work them. Once you bend it all the way over just tie the top down to keep it in place. One big benefit is that all of those bud sites on the horizontal branch will start turning towards the light and get much larger than they would have without the training.

Those plants look great! I love some classic sativa's. Your doing a great job man. I can't wait to see those babies at the finish line.

1000000261.jpgOK so I've been noticing that my soil is bone dry when I water and I'm thinking that might also be playing a part in this. They are throwing out single blades and I've only get this when my watering is way off and let the medium get too dry too many times. I hope this calms down if I can dial it in. That's if that even has anything to do with it.
