has anyone tried their new "Terpene Shield" packs ? something new ? have used both Boost and Boveda RH packs and found for me that they affect stored pot in a negative way (decreased tatste/smell. But for long term maybe (6 mos +) just opened a 5 month "amber" mason jars and evertyhing seems OK ? Thoughts On the line conserning RH packs

Every Boveda I ever bought is still good. Buying the Boost was a complete waste of money, it's an inferior product and that stupid piece of paper that supposed to tell you...well what I don't know....but it doesn't work either. Never, ever again would I buy Boost........NEVER! Wouldn't take them for free to be honest.

It's interesting how differently some people feel about products than others. I had the opposite experience as you and have preferred the Integra Boost packs over Boveda. Yeah, I'm with Charlie here actually. I had terrible results with the Boveda but I've been using Boost packets for years with great results.
We can all agree that the cardboard "indicator" is just completely worthless though. I left one in a jar with an old Boost pack for what has to be close to two years now and the circle hasn't changed colors.

My recent order of bovedas off amazon were crap. They started out feeling normal but were crispy as a corn flake within a few days. I tossed them all & put nothing in my turkey bags this last run. Towards the bottom of the bag it's a little dry but all in all I think I'm gonna go back to just no humidity packs. I have some boosts from a few years ago that are still nice & pliable but they do smell a little old now.

I guess we all have different experiences. I know that the Boost pack I got are shit.....they are hard to recharge. And they don't do the work the Boveda does.......Boost gets stiff much faster than my Bovedas. The Bovedas can be brought back to fresh time after time after time.
As for the Boveda sucking up the terpens I don't see that happening here. My question regarding that issue is "Where did the terpenes go" If the argument is that Boveda is absorbing them..then at what point does the Boveda reach terp saturation? I use and re-use Bovedas that are years old....I have the terpiest weed in town and my Bovedas have no smell.
I also buy Boveda at the smoke shop...only a few pennies more than amazon but I figure they get the real deal. That said, I got my Boost's off amazon......it's Bezo's fault!
Would not take Boost for free though, right or wrong..that's the truth.

I don't think the argument is the Boveda absorbs the terps... scientifically speaking that just wouldn't make sense. Smells don't just go away like that. You'd have to remove the source of the smell. It's more that for whatever reason the way they cure the buds seems to reduce terpene production for some people. But not everyone, so who the hell knows.... I also like to use 55% packs which Boveda doesn't have. I saw they 58% packs now so I may try those (hopefully this doesn't get me lectured again lol). I don't know if it's due to my ambient humidity but if I use 62% packs my jars are straight up damp.I guess we all have different experiences. I think where you source them makes a big difference too. I got my Boveda from Amazon and they were garbage. I got my boost packs locally and they worked better. Maybe Amazon is just selling us shitty old stock that wasn't stored properly lol.

Neither Boveda or Integra use desiccants. Boveda uses some sort of salts but I can't remember what Integra uses in their Boost packs. I've personally never noticed any terpene loss using Boveda or Integra Boost and I go through my stash extremely slowly. I'm willing to bet that most people who report these issues don't store their flower properly to begin with and blame the packs. A lot of people don't seem to understand that you should only fill the jar about 75% up with flower, so it has room to breathe, and also that it needs to be stored in a dark cool place if you want it to stay fresh for the long term. My storage conditions aren't perfect, because the room I store mine in often gets into the 70s, but my flower usually stays pretty fresh for a good year to a year and a half. I store mine in quart mason jars, filled 75% of the way, and place a single 8g 62% Integra Boost pack in each jar. Quart jars can be a pain in the ass, because you need a lot of them, but the smaller container size prevents you from having to open them too many times when you want to refill the stash you use daily.I have and they donthave totally gotten rid of bovedas and boost all together in Lieu of grovebags. I’m 99 percent sure dissicant packs make flowers taste like shit.

I agree that the 62% are generally too damp for me too. The 58’s have been the sweet spot for me.

Proper storage is the key to preserving terps.
A dark place w/minimal temperature fluctuation is best.
When temperatures vary, terps fade.
I don't know why.

Great info !!! you are right - could depend on how one "dry" and "stores" ther results - just opened a jar 4 mos old - no packs - seem OK ----------- / thepacks DO keep your RH at good levels and have seen some post that flks used packs and a RH meter inside jar - her was a big diffference in RH one read high and the other low ?? there could be a lot of issues with that "test" depnds on how many times one opens the jars when using

use 58% for short stroage and 62% for long tern storage

Guess i will be grovey and get Grove Bags - But bigger one's - seem like one need to get a "bag" that is twice the size needed - got a 1/4 oz bag and really it good for 1 maybe 2 grams no 4 grams. If one orders fro W.G.F.T you get your order in a RH bag have two now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
