They look good Mr Hoe !

The only thing Mother Nature supplies here is a season of HOT DRY temps, without the hose they crisp right up in a few days.

How is the flood table doing? Looked great last I looked.

I played with Hydro for a few years but can't here the water is not up to my standards ...too much iron. I do filter it but I don't trust it much the levels fluctuate

too much depending on usage.

The F&D are doing good the one with the coffee cans and pro-mix stays too wet for me. I had them sharing a flood timer. Not now. I also was frying them with the Mars light. Changed to a couple led shop lights and they are loving it. It's about time to give them the big light now. I'm trying not to kill them. I used my well water this round, so no telling what's in it. I'm doing this blind also, no meters to be had. I'm know I'm begging for it.

If anything she rains too much here. One thing everyone from out of state says when they get here is they can't believe how green it is. It's more or less a tropical rainforest in summer. The humidity will kill you.
Thanks for dropping in brother.

When I set up a hydro system again, if I did a F&D like yours, I’d probably try to fill the bottom of the coffee cans with hydroton to your flood level, or just slightly below. ( so the very bottom of the dirt gets moisture at least until the roots grow down into the hydroton, but not so much that it stays too soggy between watering.)
Then a coffee filter, if you want to keep the soil out of the hydroton til the roots hold it more solid
Then I’d fill your promix up as far as you want, saving room for another layer of hydroton on top to slow evaporation, if they dry out too fast without one.
It might take a little adjusting til you find your ideal mix of water level, soil moisture, and timer intervals.

I’m using a similar coffee can concept, but no automation for now.

Oh, and it looks like we made the same mistake using the coffee cans. Next time, we’ll need to cut the top lip off the can down at the widest point, so we can get the root ball with less struggle, if we need to transplant. Oops lol

I'm about to blow your freaking mind
I found a 2x taller can at the bulk store.

Heheh, yeah, we’ve got one that’s probably half gallon, or more, but it’s usually just the quart size or so, and a whole bunch of em. I think because the folks’ preferred hazelnut flavor doesn’t come in larger sizes around here or something.
Fine with me, because I’m doing Pheno hunts in smaller pots anyway...not that I couldn’t fill a bigger pot if I really wanted!

Was watching H's new video. Gave me some inspiration. 49 one gallon pots in a 4x4 for pheno hunt. No topping. I need about 30 more pots. Cull ruthlessly
I got some testers I might try this on.

I'm thinking about root zones from past grows. The bottom 2-3 inches of my pots have no roots. It is always compacted. Compared to what i have seen from you guys my root zone is less than ideal. What gives? Over watering? What can I do to combat this? Rocks in bottom of the pots? Any help or ideas are appreciated.
I'm trying to get some monsters this round. Hopefully pro-mix and sprayer for watering are working out. I'm gonna pull the coffee creamer bucket out of hydo setup. They are holding water too long right now. I will replace with something a little different.
I grow like this alot...Back at it right now to hunt and get thru some packs..Half gallon pots...Topped one time..only growing the two tops.bottom growth is cut completely away (backup clones) .When they are done almost completely rootbound...I use hydroton and lava rock in the bottoms bout 1 in thick. You literally have to peel the roots away to reclaim your rocks at the end...Now the bad part. You can't be away from home. Requires watering daily! But them nice two top buds tell ya anything ya need to know...Only one female is usually kept out of a pack the rest.. killed or gifted as they all have a lil backup clone sitting waiting on the results ..I have super lemon haze..apple fritter..A poly cross of mine and another cross of mine Chem 4 x 8 mile high all growing this way right now...And a damn tote full of rootballs from the last run I need to clean the rocks out of

Careful man, if you mention Amos and I in the same sentence you could inadvertently open the door to the multiverse ?

I definitely agree though, nice package (wink wink nudge nudge)

Yo, just got all caught up brother! Got some good looking gals going. How's the nose on that Ancient Chocolate so far?
#1 is like dr.pepper or cola it's crazy.
#2 has that funky smell that I like. Not sure what to compare it too but terpes are strong.
I only have clones of #2 that's ok but 1 will get a reveg treatment. I'm very happy with both. I'm hoping to pick up another pack from @PaulNChucker soon.

Well I found my older hanna meter and 2 of the leds don't light up...now I remember why I got a new one.
I'm still rattling my friends till someone helps out here...there has to be a way to get you some meters to take care of that flood table, may take a minute or 2 but it will happen.
