Going to try and revamp my efforts!

I do what the kids call no-til

600 watt MH for veg and 1000 watt HPS for flowering

Got me some seeds and started these on 10/2:

Topdawg seeds - Dirt Dawg
Bodhi - hashplant #4 (chem 4 x 88g13hp)
Bodhi- Baba Kush (bubba kush x SSDD)

Running four of each to start, potted them into their first homes 10/4

also started a random seed I had lying around a week or two ago, going to call her ‘?’ For now!

maybe we can give her a name sometime soon

Update and pics from yesterday and today (10/5 and 10/6):
Lost one seed, literally cannot find it. One of the dirt dawgs. Maybe it withered away, or it’s possible it was planted too deep and will come up soon ? Another dirt dawg is still in its shell and not stretched out quite yet will hopefully come out to play within the next day or so

otherwise all are looking pretty health and most popped their shells.

The unknown plant has a astringent dank smell on its little leaves, excited about it :D

Update: 10/16

Ending up losing 2 dirt dawgs, and one baba kush.
Started another 2 dirt dawgs to replace the ones I lost.
Another baba kush doesn’t look too hot, but we will see!

the mystery plant is doing really well, had some slight issues but they seem to be worked out. I am playing with the height of my light. Also considering DIY leds.

not much going on, just trying to get these seedlings to grow! Might switch to fresh soil for seedlings next time, or something, maybe plugs. Seems my no till pots have too much salt or something, trying to figure that out too.

Update and photos from 10/21/20:

Lost the baba kush in question, but everything else is looking really great right now.

Got some Neem seed meal and karanja seed meal, will add them as a top dressing to round out my soil a bit.

Dirt dawgs, which are basically chem D / chem 91 crosses, I think leaning more towards incrossing of chem 91...depending which version of NYC chem JJ used, which I’m not entirely sure of. Anyways a couple have some leaf wrinkling going on the first set of leaves. I feel like I’ve read about this trait, anybody know anything about that?

Update and pics from 10/23:

Decided to try out some Neem/karanja seed meal as additional fertilizers.

I top dressed with ~1 tbsp per pot (larger pots got a little more, smaller pots got a little less) and mulched with straw.

This happened over succession of a couple days, the plants responded quickly. I believe it’s more to do with the mulching though.

Im feeling good about this run ?

Live the straw ! Main benefits?
As a mulch! It helps with water retention. In this case I’m thinking it helped keep the soil evenly moist, rather than the top drying out super quick and the bottom staying too moist.

I intentionally waited until these were a little more established, as I didn’t want to encourage any damping off.

The straw also helps keep an active microbial community. The zone between soil and organic material is very important, for microbes. Straw adds silica also. And it looks pretty neat :D

For example if you apply “lasuana “ aka top dressing of dry amend ( organic or non) , if your applying multiple and weekly , that will probably have a “caking “ issue . Use some gypsum every 2-4 weeks to decaKe it and also you can use a bamboo stick or something similiar and gently poke small hole on top of your medium ( it only needs to be a few not 100’s lol)

Exactly, I keep it pretty simple. I add most of what they need in the beginning of the run. That really isn’t enough for it to cake up! But again you can mix it with some worm castings or compost if it’s becoming an issue! And mulch will also help a bunch as well, keeping the amendments in a wetter environment

Update and pics from 11/02:

Just moving along, want to start taking clones very soon.

Hard to say but I think I saw some flowers, 2 female, 1 male...forgot which strains, but a little too early to really tell.

not much fun now, but thanks for sticking around!
