Damn broski, you got WAAAY further with those beans than most already. Bummer on the sterile pollen with the GG4. Ive had a couple reversals do that to me over the years. The worst was Indiana Bubblegum. Reversed wonderfully, produced tons of male flowers, then when the sacks opened they were virtually hollow and empty. I reversed a cut from momma 3 seperate times and failed in that exact same way every time. I had to move on from that project and I was so crushed after all that time and energy wasted for no seeds on 3 seperate reversals and pollination attempts. My pistols also turned every time making me think something took. Glad to hear your back in the saddle with the garden though. I hope you find a keeper in those PBB!
Tahoe was just like that for me @HydroRed def a bummer

Ya know, I believe Ive heard other say the same about that strain as well.
I find this odd. For me the GG4 was a full male at flower, not some stressed out herm. But it didn't make pollen, even though we know GG4 has been reversed and viable pollen made before. Almost leads me to believe it something else that causes this and not necessarily strain specific. Though it might be harder to get one to produce over the other, it doesn't seem endlessly impossible just improbable.

I feel more inclined to think its strain dependent. Of the 3 reversals I did with the Indiana Bubblegum, one was with Twenty20's kit, and the other two were with my kits and all 3 yielded the same results -full reversals but no beans. I've used Twenty20's kits multiple times before with great success on other strains. There was traces of pollen (almost none), and brown pistols....but no seeds were made on any of the 3 attempts with the IBG. I never had an issue getting viable pollen with my GG4 cut. Perhaps environment/temps/vpd/feed strength/humidity/ etc plays a bigger role than we are realizing? Just so many variables....
With the chemicals in any STS kit, its just atomized silver particles small enough for cellular absorbtion to block the Ethylene effects in the plant. Ethylene gas plays a role in stress/flowering/ripening and a handful of other things on top of sexual expression when flowering.
If I had pizza from 3 different places and got the shits with all three Id be more suspect of it being an issue with my guts and not the pizza. Much like humans, when it comes to plants they just react differently than one another and may have different outcomes by the same means. Ive reversed a ton of plants and still dont know why some stuff happens the way it does? Mother nature always keeps me wondering.

Timing might be a factor At least for me. Maybe she'd eventually of dropped as she aged more as a male. It's not in the cards for me to keep running her dry alongside the females as they mature past that good point of catching pollen. Reversal isn't something that I'd cared about learning or doing. It's on now tho, I'll climb this mountain at least once. 😂

I've done a couple of reversals that resulted in full reversal with no pollen as well. With STS each time. I think next time I try I'm gonna follow the way Nspecta said he does it, by increasing the number of plants reversed. He mentioned in a post that he can reverse 6 copies of the same cut, and only have 1 or 2 produce viable pollen. He said it's unpredictable. They'll all reverse fine, but just not produce pollen. So after reading that, I figure it's worth the effort to throw a few more copies in at the same time to better the odds.

I’d be curious if the reversal method/chemicals plays a part in determining pollen production
From my little experience with it, it can, but usually more due to bad mixing, ie too harsh or strong/weak of a solution than anything else. Though STS seems to be less harsh and better outcomes than CS. Personally, I chalk it up to the actual specific plant's genetics. Some females, it almost as if they just can't complete the switch, possibly do to missing chromosomes etc. I've also experienced specific cultivars being "easier or harder" to reverse as well. The reason I came to this conclusion, or one of them anyway is that I noticed varying degrees of male flower and pollen production in the same cultivar. Same spray, same solution rate etc, but different plants within a certain cultivar would not "all" produce the same outcome. See that a handful of times and it seems to say something to you haha. That's one of the reasons I started making/selling my own mix. To take that element out of the equation. Also why I started to use the penta hydrate over the anahydrous, it's more expensive, not much, but seems to work way better. Anyway, stumbled on this message and thought I could help a little from the 7-8 years I've been using STS. No expert here, but I'm learning.

I’m running the Array2, color me impressed!
I like being able to run it 7” above the canopy, which leaves more headspace.

People like Shane that actually review the competition and provide real information on products are the ones we should be supporting!
Migro/Shane is legit. I wish more people supported him. He has done a ton for the community as far as representation of the community and education as well. Good dude, great company, solid fixtures! My two cents anyway haha. But what do I know haha.
