First grow strain suggestions.

Yo nefar! Sorry I haven't been engaging much lately. I plan on being more present. Grow looks good! I ran those for 9 weeks. You'll start getting a real loud citrus and chem smell soon. I love that line. Real Star Dawg dominant.

No worries, man. Life changes take a while to adjust to and get back into the groove. I think I might end up having to harvest one plant a week or two earlier than the other, which is going to mess up my plan to dry them in the tent while I plan for a winter grow. I think I may have stunted the one with aggressive trimming and a couple of mistakes with my pH/feeding.

I'm pretty sure I'll need to flush these since I've been using liquid nutrients, and I can see salts on the bag and on top of my medium when it dries out. Timing the flush, deciding on wet vs. dry trimming, and figuring out where to hang and dry are now on my to-do list. After all the time invested and everything I’ve learned, I definitely don’t want to mess it up at the very end. The stronger smell is driving me crazy now, haha. I’ve got some Grove Bags ready for curing.

It's been an adventure, and a great experience for my first time. I can't thank you enough for sending the seeds out!
My desktop vaporize is all clean and waiting to fill a bag.

I’ve got the Jelly Tree seeds sitting here, but I might wait on those until I can get a taller/wider tent.

Got tired of thinking of different drying diy's. Just bought a $40 tent same size as my infinity. 3d printer enclosure tent would probably work as well but I wanted some more height. The small tents are fairy cheap without all the hardware.

Getting close to week 8.

Had to do a little preflushing again. Few more light feedings going into week 8 and then Im going to start to flush to harvest on 9. Watching tri's still mostly white and cloudy on buds, more rose colored on leaves now. Getting the dry tent ready ;)

Moved the tent around and did a little more work with my printer.

This is so sick! Ive got the exact windows and this is much much better than a piece of plywood with two 4" holes bored through it. I've really interested in getting one lately. If you don't mind me asking..... How much $ do you have in your printing setup?

Oh I could of done wood, wood shop in the garage. I have to print out the baffles for it. I have the handles and washers printed. Awesome tech. Getting easier to use but there is a learning curve. Cost varies as most things do. Personally I would not suggest a budget under $300, BF $500-800 probably more the range of a 'better experience'.. Anyway ..

I have 3 rigs and a 4th on the way. The one you see in that picture is a Creality Ender 3 V3 KE. (they need to seriously work on their naming convention) I actually won this printer last year two weeks after I purchased a Elegoo Neptune 4 printer (and I think that was the year I won the graphic contest here) It was a good year for me. The lottery ticket didn't win though. I also won a Ender 3 V3 SE. That was a couple months ago. I know. I need to play the lottery again. Now I pre-ordered a K2 Plus Combo
Now the only reason I pulled the trigger on that was because I had a nice discount. That being said, enclosed bed, and it was the minimum 'bed size' I wanted at the time. (I want bigger!) (**Not saying this is what I would purchase now) My creality btw has 100% been the workhorse.

My initial investment was $300 on Black Friday. I wanted the elegoo plus but it was not out yet and I pulled the trigger. I was not willing to pay the extra for the max without knowing if it was worth it. Soon as I opened my neptune 4 box though, I knew the bedsize was too small for what I wanted to do. That being said all depends on what 'you' would like to do with it.

Post investment. More than likely the need for a or DIY dry box or purhase one (40-100$) to keep the humidity low. Pretty sure safe bet around here there though there is quite the knowledge about controling humidity. I 100% need one. My humidity varies upon the season but it can go from fricking 70+ down here to 30's in the winter when the furnace is running (no furnace humidifer). It will 100% effect the filament. Called 'getting wet' and it's made growing in the tent a pain in the ass. (just bought a ac infinity humidifer, thats going up after this post).

Filament depending on the type you use the most, but everyone starts with PLA. Will range between $10 or 11 a 1kg roll on a good sale, or average 17 -22$. It really varies on brand, and type. How long that will last would depend upon what you're printing. You want to print for say something to help with plants outside, or inside the tent. I would not use PLA. Granted, I did use pla for some of the items you see in my pics that's more me testing proof of concepts and not having a stack of petg or better here lol. Long term you will want to use PETG or another filament that is made to be tougher, take the UV, weather etc. I've printed a lot for the tent and ideas always pop in my head. I'm going to design little storm windows for the basement windows as well. Either just snap right into the frame outside with magnets or just press fit. Haven't made up my mind yet.

Don't need anything over a 300mm bed? An enclosed CoreXY that is capable of printing the type of filament you think you would use the most.

DONT FALL FOR THE MICROCENTER $99 OR LESS 3D PRINTER.

Want one of those you can find them all over craigslist or facebook market. (not a bad place to look for a used printer though)

There is a learning curve. It's not plug & play (yet).
You will need to use software *slicer software at minimum.
Lot of people think you need to know advanced design in cad or 3d modeling software. You don't.
I've used the slicer itself to do very basic shapes and designs.

99% of the time you can find what you're looking for on one of the sites like MakerWorld: Download Free 3D Printing Models or Thingiverse - Digital Designs for Physical Objects and modify if necessary.

Thanks for the detailed write up, that will help me decide how to go about it!

The humidfier from ac works but it's more like a spike. If I set it to 60 when it kicks on it hits 69% and then comes down. I'm not sure if I like it that high. So, I set it to 55 the spike only hits 62/63.

Now it's fighting the temp. I dont think i'm hitting that '60' degrees mark. It's at 71 sitting on concrete slab early fall. I tried throwing some ice packs for coolers in there yesterday. That semi worked but not nearly enough. It was hovering at 68. Trying to get this right before my first harvest. I'm starting pure flush today I was weaning them down. Aiming for harvesting maybe next weekend. Getting close. Oh yeah.

I took some of the branch cut offs I had in the aquarium filter. They had buds on them but early. I did a shitty dry job on them but I tried one, and threw rest in terp bag. I checked it a few days ago the humidity was a bit low so I opened it up. I might grind one up tonight and see if I can taste a change from 'dry quickly' non cured, to cured after a week. What I did have I was alert and kept on task. I'm very interested to see what it will be with it being matured much more. Trichome still mostly white and cloudy except on sugar leaves, lots of amber now. Filling up a couple 5g with ROI now. Pure till next friday.

Drying and curing is the key to good buds as I'm sure you know. I used to really struggle with it but anymore it just comes naturally, don't really have to think or stress over it too much. Grove bags really helped me out, jars were just too much work, burping and checking on them all the time. The bags are much more forgiving. I used to be like you and stressed over temp and humidity, now I don't think it's really necessary, just got to get them in bags before they're too dry. Had some early plants that were harvested first week of Sept. We had 80 degrees all month with no rain so it's dry, fire and burn restrictions on right now. I dried those plants in my tractor barn, hot and dry. They were dry in 4 days, put them in bags, trimmed at my own pace. You'd never know they were quick dried, sticky and spongy just the way we like.

Once you find that sweet spot where the buds are dry enough it'll get easier. Once I stopped stressing over the environment and just worried about the dryness of the bud it all fell into place. Some plants dry in a week some two weeks, some in 4 days, key is to get them into curing bags when they're ready.

Hope ya get these right, looks like you have some bad ass buds.

Me over analyzing would not be unheard of hah. Last night I pulled out an old computer PSU, jumped the switch and hooked up a old computer fan at top of tent haha. Not strong enough though. I would hang in the garage but this time of year the swing on temp and humidity would be janky and it's not 100% darked out in there. Not really anywhere in the house that leaves down here in the basement. I figured I'd amazon cheap tent it. Terp bags & 3 sets of trimming scissors ready.
I know first grow is the worst grow and a learning curve but I'm bound & determined to reap some reward for all the investment.

Tents are great for drying as long as you have air flow. You're doing what you should, shooting for the best environment you can get. Not sure I would've believed you can get spongy, stickly buds drying at 80f and 30% if someone told me it was possible. But I just seen it with my own eyes. I think some folks see dry for two weeks at 60/60, then they dry their stuff for two weeks, but their environment wasn't spot on, and they end up with over dry buds. Drying at 80/30 I took them down after 4 days, put them in bags where they regained a bit of moisture so I dried them on racks for a couple more days. They're curing nicely right now, you'd never know they weren't dried in perfect conditions. My sister was telling my she pulled out some Stardawg I gave her a year ago and it was still sticky, spongy and tasted delicious. My mean ass chastised her for smoking year old weed when I have 20 strains of fresher stuff to choose from.

I usually dry in my 3 tents but 2 tents have plants in them. one I have racks set up in with almost completely dried buds on. From there they go into bags. This season it's been chop, hang in barn until it's nearly dry chop the buds off then finish drying inside the tent on racks. Into bags when they're right. It's not ideal by any means but they're turning out way better than I thought they would. Looking like it's going to be my best crop ever.

I froze 2 1G containers solid, fan in there blowing around. I took an old PSU from old computer plus 3 fans. Strapped them right into top, and sides. It's low flow though. The humidity does it's up and down thing as normal the lowest I've got temp is 68 with no ice sits at 71. I dont think im making the 60/60. Think Iwould like a little more flow for when i cut down but going to just have to watch with the higher temp. I've got two cut offs in there now for 6 days I think now. Main stem still bend no snap, small bud branches not break or making any snap but I doubt it would be much longer. Just smells like typical yard waste drying in there. 2nd flush tomorrow. I dont think any problems with the more coir type soil. Heavier mix though I might have to bring out the tent and run some gallons through it. It's not moving down from 1500 tds very quickly at all.

You can wash them after harvest, get 3 5 gallon buckets of distilled or RO water, the first one will be your cleaning solution. Baking soda and lemon juice, this bucket should be warm water, the other 2 buckets are cold plain water. Vacuum all the webs and shit off the buds after chop, one branch at a time, dunk and swirl in the cleaning solution for 30 seconds, gently, then 30 seconds in each rinse bucket, then hang to dry. This will not take trichomes or terps away from your flower but it will wash the mites out of your flower. The solution ratio is 1tsp of each baking soda and lemon juice per liter of water, so about 20 each for 5 gallons. You can vacuum those webs off the live plant for now and finish her out so your time isn't wasted, but after harvest you will want to seriously clean that grow or they will come back. I got my mites from going into my outside garden and then going into the grow, pets will also bring them into the area as well.
