First grow strain suggestions.

You can wash them after harvest, get 3 5 gallon buckets of distilled or RO water, the first one will be your cleaning solution. Baking soda and lemon juice, this bucket should be warm water, the other 2 buckets are cold plain water. Vacuum all the webs and shit off the buds after chop, one branch at a time, dunk and swirl in the cleaning solution for 30 seconds, gently, then 30 seconds in each rinse bucket, then hang to dry. This will not take trichomes or terps away from your flower but it will wash the mites out of your flower. The solution ratio is 1tsp of each baking soda and lemon juice per liter of water, so about 20 each for 5 gallons. You can vacuum those webs off the live plant for now and finish her out so your time isn't wasted, but after harvest you will want to seriously clean that grow or they will come back. I got my mites from going into my outside garden and then going into the grow, pets will also bring them into the area as well.

Thanks!

completely agree with @Gatorbackbob. Don't take it lightly, be sure to clean the room as if you were going to perform surgery. I promise that you don't want to think you have them eradicated completely (even if by some miracle you did). The last thing you want is to start a new cycle and looking great, just so they can come right back all over again. Take the time to do it right the 1st time and you won't have to nonstop worry about the next run. Keep on keeping on man, sending positive vibes your way. That's what this absofuckinglutely amazing plant were lucky to have in our lives is all about!

I had em out the tent flushed both plants. I washed the branches I cut off, hung them by a fan and then put them in my dry tent. I've got 99% rubbing alchol for cleaning my 3d printer beds. I washed the hell out of that tent when I had them out of there and the equipment. Once I get these harvested and dried will be a full decontamination down here. Though now I saw a reveg thread and it makes me want to take one of the girls and start her hover hah.

So the infinity fan didn't even last one grow before it's rotation broke. I check the tent it's at 85. I open it up and see spider mite silk agan. Think im just going to harvest and do a full bud wash again. The htough of losing everything since starting in late March has got me going. I knew I should have not added soil from the old garden here when I went form an 3 to 5g. Trichomes are cloudy with a little bit of amber

They will be clean.
Grabbed an air pump from my aquarium and some air stones little aeration for the wash bins. Figure that might help knock some knock some garbage off. Warming up the water a little.

My neighbor gave me a branch of his first grow dried that out and tried a bud in my vaporizer. Smells like bubble gum, tastes like bubble gum.

Washed and drying.

wet weight:

  • Plant 1 8.8 0z
  • Plant 2 10.10 ( One that was outside for awhile & infested with mites/aphids)

I really wanted to get a better flush in but the thought of waking up to covered in silk again kept hitting my brain. If it's a bit harsh and a bit weaker thats ok.
The plant that had more of the promix with worm casting, while the weakest of the two drained the best and was far better to start flushing. A gallon of water would run through there extremely fast. The plant I had outside and substituted some garden soil in when I went from 3 to 5g became hydrophopic and had horrible drainage by the end and ended up being the one that poped aphids and mites.

I was a bit over agreesive in my wash, the photos of microscopic spider mites dancing in my head and dried up top buds. I saw some hairs in there, dust, dirt, and debris. Pretty sure I'm going to stick with a bud wash moving forward just not as agressive. I am tempted to take some water out of each one and view it under the scope.

I Learned alot of lessons from first grow and from everyone commenting and reserach on the forum. I made a lot of mistakes and panicked on a few occasions. I have to admit after awhile veg was getting a bit boring. I was losing my focus and not keeping to my schedule as I was in the beggining. Once It got into flower though it got exciting.

I was going to attempt to reveg one of them but I figured since I had spider mites get them outside and dump the dirt. Maybe even ditch the grow bags. Those are realtily cheap and sure as hell not worth another round of mites. I am also curious to see how the roots look.

Now will come a mass steralize effort on everything including the basement as much as I can and then start prepping for round two. This time in the actual grow jounal category.

Yeah don't beat yourself up. I've screwed up more plants than I can remember but that's what keeps me in check. You're going to feel great when you finally get to roll it up n smoke it. I know lots of folks that gave up before even finishing their first grow. Like you said, you learned a lot, and it will show on round 2. 👊

Every grow you’ll learn something, especially when you journal it and post photos. I’ve been at it over a decade and I still feel like a rookie. When you get on a forum like this and have so many incredible growers it humbles you but also will drive you to do better.

I heard a saying once that went along the lines of -- "When you start to feel like you're the smartest person in the room, it's time to change rooms."

I am a firm believer in this and I don't see why anyone that would visit phenohunter would leave. Even for those at highly skilled level that frequent here still share and learn from each other.

I passed out last night very early and forgot to fill humidifer, 34% this morning. Everything is far far much drier. Hard to believe in just 1 night. This would only be start of day 4, and I didn't chop until later in the day. Might be time to put the min the terp bags already. The main stems snapping, small bud stems just breaking off. Smells changed from just green matter drying out to a smell I'm not sure how to identify. I was reffering to it earlier as skunky but I think that's wrong. Perhaps the 'chem' smell that was mentioned with this strain, with a very feint citrus wtih the one that was slightly lagged behind the other.

Drying and curing is an art as well. It sounds like they’re ready to go in. Put a hydrometer in and check in an hr or two if it goes way up they need a little more dry time. Fast dry can be done and product come out fire it’s just a lot more critical of timing. I can leave the bottoms in my tent at 60% and cooler temps and pull a bud off 2 months later and it s perfect. But an hr or two to long at higher temps and lower humidity can lower quality. Get to know your drying environment in each season and keep notes. I go by the 1 day per 10% humidity rule plus one of its warmer then I like I check before that extra day of dry time. So 40% humidity drying room conditions would be 5 days. If it’s 75+ degrees I’ll check on the 4th day. Then I’ll start check ing every two hrs or so if it’s close.

I've always felt it's better to put them in bags too soon as apposed to letting them get too dry. Can always pull them back out of the bag to dry more, if they're too dry it's really hard if not impossible to get it back.
