Grow box for boys/ breeding

I have limited space dedicated to my plants but want to do some chucking. Was thinking of building a small screen box 2.5' square 4' tall. I found this pollen screen that is interesting if it works. Just ordered 2 small rolls so we'll see. Can keep it in my veg area which is in a different room then the flower space. Only problem is return air for central AC is in veg room so theoretically pollen could get spread into every room through AC if screen doesn't work.

big clear tote, small computer fan, 2x 4"x4" sections of furnace filter, some tape. 2 holes get drilled in the tote, put the fan over one, and then a filter on top of it. then the filter on the other one. easy peasy and you can build multiple and stack them for storage when you're between chucks.

I've got those plans too just want to see if I can have a little screen atrium for chucks in the corner of my office. Would be cool if the screen works. Main AC return air I can just up the filter quality and not worry about any fuck ups spreading that way. Totes are probably way easier and more efficient but I got the screen thing in my head now and its really cool in there at least. We'll see if it translates.

How big is it? I think it will need to be a screen smaller than 100 microns. I’d love e to see it work!

The challenge with containing pollen is that it is so fine that you can't reliably comfine it if it's
in the same building IMO..
I have some Charlotte's Angel Auto that I was trying to make some more fem seed for last year...In an entirely different area of the house..I reversed one of the females and made my seeds amongst a few plants...wouldnt you know it..When I planted the new seed I had made, a male plant appeared..WTF!?..Where the heck did that pollen come from?...As much as I hate to admit it, cross contamination of pollen or environment had obviously occurred...whether it be clothes (as careful as I thought I was) or air (areas did not share common ventilation) ..It can still happen..so I had to garbage the seed and will need to start again from the precious generation as I cant reliably identify lineage.
Now I try to limit my strains at any one time...

So since one of the goals of this box is to not spread pollen I've got an idea to limit the chances a little more. Build the screen box with aluminum frame, plywood bottom and use the Blumats I have laying around. Make it so I dont have to open it until seeds are done. Big question is will that screen work. All about the screen now.

are you positive that you yourself were not the contaminant? I only ask because I had been hyper vigilant about keeping this male box seperate, and after taking the female out upstairs, killing off the males, bagging, ect. I put the female back into the flower tent without the box, completly forgetting to wet her down first. I noticed a few days later when I saw she still had acuple pollen sacks stuck to her. oooooooops. forever an amateur!

It could totally have been me..no question!
There are simply so many parameters to contamination when you have open pollen sacks...even the wave of a hand in ambient air can send pollen everywhere in a room.

For sure. I’ve even been a little too heavy with a lil brush and got like half the plant, just from tapping a little too hard and having a little too much on the brush.
