This pic was more about the guitars than the stereo, but you can see one
of two Cerwin Vega speakers and some of the Sony gear in the case.
Old pics from our last home.

This one was taken at our present location just about a year ago. It was my first NGD, *New Guitar Day, in 7 years. I already have to many, and thought
I was getting better and then had a relapse and bought this Tele for myself for Christmas. Turkeys approved.

Bob Latino built vta st-120 with Gold Lion KT88 driver tubes, Running to a set of Tekton lore speakers. Sophia electric S.E.T. music baby, running a set of rebuilt/upgraded Klipsh KG 4.2 speakers. Running Digital format through a Bel-Canto DAC 2.7. Sounds awesome, I don't turn them on often enough. Listening to music this way is generally best after having a few, and it generally promotes excessive consumption.😂

Thanks Mim, I checked out your grow thread. Respect sir, respect. In the above post which I can no longer edit, I caught a spelling error.
"I already have to many" should read I already have too many. 37 btw. 60 years of playing and I'm finally making some headway. Working on my
4th lp. Actually the work is done. It's just a matter of getting around 18 to 20 songs out of about 4 dozen to choose from, and the artwork for the jacket.

The Tele is an American Original 60's based on a '62. Double bound body and the color is called Lake Placid Blue.
Thanks m8.

I really want an original '52 blond with black pickguard, but way to pricey for me. Because of the price costing 50 to 100 K for one, I'll never own one,
but my wife had realized my obsession with one, and did the next best thing for me and did this one for me off a pic found on the internet with pastels.

An interesting sidenote. Our recent Cardigan Corgi puppy got named "Tele". Makes sense to me.

The Fender Twin Reverb RI used to belong to Brad Paisley. He had Fender tweak it to blackface specs ie '64. That is something that Fender just doesn't do
unless your Brad. lol

Bob builds some nice amps, you cant go wrong with his ST-120. I was going to try a set of their M125s when they came out but it never happened. Ended up with this instead.

The st-120 have is nice, I have yet to try different combinations with tubes and speakers to get the most from it. The Sophia electric music baby hangs right up with the st-120 at only 10watts and has a much better frequency response. Good friend of mine was running a Hafler DH-500 with a pair of D9 Vega's before he went exclusively to tubes. He blames me for diving down that rabbit hole, I guess I'd be the same way if I had that much vinyl.

Those I have seen.
Got the diaphragm upgrades for my KG4.

Love that set.
The reverse roll drivers will only ping in the winter time, I have to wait till they supple-up a bit before I can enjoy them. I was running them on a Marantz, but I have picked up a Carver that I would really like to try them out on.
I would sure love to rebuild the crossovers
DIY bits and bobs are becoming so expensive, lately. It looks like a simple crossover, but I'm sure it would add up quick.
What makes a kg4 a 4.2

Didn't realize that was a factory offering.
That link won't display in Canada, but I dug around enough to satisfy my curiosity.
KG4.2 was front-fire 10-inch master and slave
KG4 was twin 8's with a rear-fire 12" Dummy.

Got mine used almost 10 years ago for $350 I believe. They are good sensitive speakers for the price, 95dB@1watt/meter 36-20khz, and work well with tube amps. I replaced both 10" drivers after clipping them a few times on a Dennon multi channel amp. Also replaced the horn diaphragms with a set of Crites titanium ones. Definitely a noticeable difference, I have yet to replace crossover caps. The replacement cap set starts at $50 for most Klipsh speakers through the Crites website, apparently Bob passed and his kid now runs the business. I've always been interested in Carvers creations, seems like a crazy old guy with some brilliant creations. I've also looked hard at some OTL amps that are made here in MN. I mainly need to focus on a solid hi-res 24bit/192kz digital format signal to feed the system via computer. We usually just run spotify via Bluetooth. Spotifys audio resolution is garbage at times and decent at best.

Nice.
Honestly, I wish I knew more about this stuff.
I see the 4.2 has a resistor in series·parallel that is absent in the 4.
I wonder if that addresses the lower cone surface area or perhaps the resonant frequencies of the dissimilar drivers?

I need to head to the library, find a 'crossovers for a dummies' manual
Some folks can look at sheet music, and hear the entire Orchestra in their head.
I am looking at the bars, and counting out the do-ray-me's on my fingers.
Starting to get curious about my ess-amt1b , as they are a two way, as well. I think those offer some attenuation, could make for a big mess.

Any other two-way listeners out there ?
Or single?
I have always wanted to sit down with some Tannoy, never had the chance.
I own some Kef Q's, but that is not quite the same.

Haha yes the amount of variables is mind scrambling for sure, lots design theory. The rabbit hole is endless, sound interpretation through words and diagrams is difficult to say the least. I remember being mentored by my uncle on basic audio years ago, we built a set of realistic 3way home audio speakers with off the shelf components from radio shack. If I remember correctly the speakers came with a build sheet, crossover cap and coil specs, box volume and wiring diagram. Those speakers are still in service today in my brothers garage and still sound great. Radio shack had good stuff, kind of a generic product line I guess. I believe a lot of manufacturers made their stuff proprietary and harder to cipher. I definitely love modern or vintage or HI-FI set ups, very few people get into that stuff, not many audiophiles nowdays I suspect. I still would love to hear a proper Magnepan set up one day, their electrostatic speakers are interesting, they are also made local here in white bear lake MN. I can’t get my other audiophile buddy to audition any components with me because he’s afraid of the outcome.
