I used to just drive them a good ways out of town and release them somewhere undeveloped. They're probably coyote bait at that point anyways. The state just doesn't want you releasing them in someone else's backyard lol. I haven't actually caught one in a couple years. Between the better fencing and burying their burrows they mostly seem to have vacated our property. The neighbor trapped and shot about a dozen over the last couple years so I'm sure that helped too. The one eating the chicken feed is the first I've seen in quite a while.
I know a couple local farmers that drown them but that's too brutal for me. I have a hard time killing an animal unless it's to end its suffering or I'm gonna eat it.
