There is always a way.
In this case, I have just taken too many shortcuts to get there.
I insulated my way into the corner but I did not provide a way for moisture to properly escape.
The space that I shrouded in is open to the trusses above the 8-ft ceiling.
I have seen it sweat before, although it is not usually a problem. I believe it is an awful Coincidence of temperature humidity and an odd lack of wind.
The uninsulated space is not exchanging air fast enough.
I am not proficient in the finer points of HVAC Sciences,,,
I do know one thing,, you take the problem and you put it somewhere else.
In the spring, we will be reshingling the garage.
I will install a six pack of passive roof vents on the unheated side; let that wind blow through there.
Also, I am intending on installing a 3 inch ABS vent stack, from the Garden - directly out the roof.
My simple brain is telling me that heat differential and moisture escaping the garden are the root cause of problem.
Figure I can take those two problems and throw them right out the ceiling.
Money solves problems immediately.
Time solves problems eventually.
I am forming up a farmer hack, to get me through until spring.
It is not all doom and gloom !
My garden is looking primetits, and I managed to avoid hitting a cottontail, right in front of the house, when I arrived home tonight.
No way could leave that for the family to find.
Can you imagine what my neighbors would think; seeing me out on the street with a shovel at 3:30 in the morning?
"Honey what is our weirdo neighbor doing ? "
"He's just scraping meat off the street Dear, go back to sleep"
?
