Working on depmotor tubing today.lookimg at the greenhouse i may have to deflate the 2 layers. The outer may hold the curtain out too far. I'll post some pick on my log when I get there.

As long as there's no light leaks, space in between makes zero difference. To keep the blackout fabric tight run ratchet straps over the top and attach to heavy duty bungee cords at the ends. When you make the vertical poles for the motors set them up as a sleeve with an inner and outer pole. That will give them the ability to extend and contract. Combined with the straps the floating arms will stay tight to the frame.

Being attached at a single point equalizes the weight of the arm preventing the loosening of the anchor and simplifying the system with a single anchor point.

Thanks for the great picks.
I set up my motors with sliding tubes yesterday, using a 2x4 on the ridge to attach the blackout plastic to. I'm still running a little heat at night we are still getting frost warnings. I'm really loving the big pots, they sure don't need to be watered too often. When I can move some plants out aft the frost is for sure gone I will start 12/12 flower the big girls and veg the small some more move them in at a later date. I may set up a larger heater in the fall so I can finish up without running the dep, using natural sun. Looks like sept 26 is the first day of 12hr in my area. Getting 16.5 now.

You've got a nice setup. Good job.

Be careful with running them long. Rapid temp drops can really screw with the flowering, retarding growth and/or causing herms. If you start in dep, you should finish in dep, unless you can coordinate the shift to within minutes of the natural light cycle. Some plants are more sensitive than others so your margin of error can be anywhere from 5-30min.

I'm struggling to adjust this 5 year old greenhouse. Things have settled, shifted, and there's small tears in parts of the blackout fabric that gets rolled over by the sides. Complete pain in the a$$ but I've almost got it dialed. To me, running a dep is annoying as f^ck. I'd much rather be growing my full season monsters but I don't think this greenhouse is big enough.

The beanlings are getting a little nitrogen deficient. I used Redi-Gro potting soil this time which is really cheap and can't hold out more than a few weeks without nutes in a small pot. In fairness, I haven't had any premium soils that lasted longer than 5-6 weeks. I'm kinda cash poor and out of Alaska Fish emulsion at the moment so I had to use a cup of FoxFarm Grow Big from my greenhouse supply. It'll do for now but I do need to pick up more Alaska Fish next week for both sets of plants. It's a far more forgiving product that doesn't hurt em if I get a little over zealous with my measurements.

It's a week in from flip and we've already got spikeys and Birds of Paradise here & there. That's quick, and it's gonna give us time to fatten the colas. I have never seen plants grow and develope as fast as in this greenhouse. Oh, I am so growing trees this Aug run. I'll plant only a single plant in each 200gal pot then maybe lollypop em. We'll see if I can get some 10lb'rs this fall.

8 days after flip. A roll of cheapo backup trellis I had crumbled apart so I'll have to order some more of the good stuff to finish wrapping the girls. I've held off hitting them with another round of pesticide because it's been mostly thrip, slug, and earwig damage. That stuff's barely more than cosmetic on large outdoor plants. I'm going to hit em with Triazacide in the next couple days. Been picking an occasional single leaf with Borg freckles. That means it's time for a 2-2.5 week deterrent to stall off and thin out the inevitable swarm as the temps increase. Any heavy infestation after this point will have to be controlled with pyrethrin.

11 days into flower. Entering the 1st slow growth period as the 1st flowers develope. In about a week they should start stacking with a quickness (...with how well the greenhouse is working they may jump off in as little as 4 days).

The 2nd run mothers are well on their way. Will start taking clones as soon as they sex.

Fresh batch of beanlings.

Thought this was a leaf deformation until when I took a closer look it moved. Now, that's some sick ambush camouflage. Not likely a learned technique, makes a good case for genetic memory. Genetic code bears striking similarities to a computer storage drive.

Awsome quick question. How are you dealing with humidity while dep is closed. Do you just run you fan full time or do you use a himidity controller?

I live in an arid zone with very low humidity and mostly cool night temps during the summer. On top of that I have two vents on the greenhouse around 1/2² meter each. I generally don't need to do anything to clear the humidity in the evenings. When it reaches 85F(29.5C) at night I'll open up the sides after the sun goes down and close them before it comes up. The exhaust fan is pretty powerful and sounds like a low flying plane so I don't run it at night with the neighbor only 40'(12m) away.

Looking super healthy n lush as usual @SmithsJunk. I love this stage of growth, I'm a sucker for a well done "Veg BOOM." Great stuff so far my friend ?

Agreed, this is when we start seeing the fruits of our labor. This is the point at which I can start making more accurate estimates of the finished sise of the girls and expected harvest yield. I think we'll see 1.5lb-2lb ea plant in the 45gal and 2lb ea plant in the 200gal.

*For any new growers who read this* Over the past several years I've gone from a formulaic schedule of feeding and watering to a reactive approach. Once or twice a day I read the leaves for signs of nutrient deficiency/excess and touch the soil to feel the moisture content. Marijuana loves a wet-dry cycle. My observations make me of the opinion that it's like very slow breathing, they take in nutes while soil is wet and expel waste as it dries. If soil is constantly wet they suffocate (literally as well, since the roots also do a gas exchange). Overwatering is the most common mistake novice growers make, closely followed by overfeeding. Overwatering can lead to nute excess and soil locks. If a plant is struggling to expel waste it will reduce it's nute uptake causing a build up of nutes in the soil. A bembe soil flush (2-3x normal irrigation at once) will help break this lock. After the flush allow the soil to drain completely (1st inch or so is moist but mostly doesn't stick to your finger or at the top end of the low zone on an analog moisture meter). Afterwards, do your normal feeding but add a little high % aloe juice and some crushed aspirin for a quicker recovery.

Was at Raley's this morning, getting my breakfast burrito and Starbuck's Doubleshot latte. On the way out to my truck I see this old dude wearing a white Banana Republic type button down and olive green yoga pants. I was like WTF? Looked like Willem Dafoe running cocaine while doing Richard Simmons 90 day workout.

Absolutely f^ckin terrifying isn't it? I think this sh*t's against the Geneva Convention.
