Hello everybody!
The reason I'm here is because I received a pack of Bored Ape Cannabis Club(GG4 x Skunk) seeds bred by @Schwaggy P and I understand he hangs out here from time-to-time. I really like his style of documentation so I decided to stick around and maybe learn some more stuff from everyone!
I'm a lifelong smoker, attempted my first grow in 1976 when I was 9, with my friend Loren. You may have heard of the cultivar, Iowa Ditch Weed. We made it about a month into veg under a 100W incandescent light bulb and then Loren's mom discovered the plant and made him destroy it.?
I didn't attempt again until 1985 when a friend and I popped some bag seed of stuff we got from a tweaker in Huntington Beach. We planted a bit late but still managed to get a few ozs of decent smoke. We thought we were the shit! I was living in Anaheim at the time and a girl from school hooked me up with her brother who was unloading those flip-top sandwich bags filled with pretty good stuff, for a Jackson. It didn't make sense for me to grow after that since the risk of discovery was so high.
In 2000, I had moved to Northern California and a friend gave me some Blueberry seeds from his connect in Oregon. That year, I attempted my first outdoor bucket grow. I used shit dirt and ended up frying 2 plants in the Central Valley heat. The next year I popped the rest of the Blueberry's and made it about a month and a half when I came home to discover someone had taken them. The bud from other grows that did manage to finish was terrific!
I made a few more feeble attempts with some White Widow seed I saved but kids and poor planning saw that they never made it to fruition.
In 2010, a friend cut me out a spot in his outdoor medical grow. Did some TGA strains as everyone seemed to be doing around here and moved to indoor in 2014 after homie got pissy that my plants were robbing his of light?♂️. That same year, I received a cut Dark Heart Nursery was testing from Purple Caper Seeds. I contacted him and started testing from then until I shut down in 2018 due to my outdoor being discovered by neighboring roofers.
Late last year, the guy I got the White Widow from, tried to pawn his BP1000 off on me. I said I wasn't going to grow here again but like an idiot, I took a couple Slurricanes and Lemon Dosidos off him after he popped too many seeds. My intention was to let them die and be like "OH WELL?♂️"
That didn't happen. Ultimately, I ended up pulling my HPS back out of the garage, then started shopping budget LEDs and now here I am. I'm currently running some random stuff while I work towards starting my 5 Year Plan, which is Vitto9, a project involving some Flo bag seed from around 2010-12 given to me by a Marine friend that says it is the only thing he's had so far that actually treats his PTSD in a way he feels comfortable with. I ran a couple in 2016 and I'd have to agree, it's really nice smoke. Good enough for me to obsess over. Unfortunately, keeping a cut of those wasn't in the cards and subsequent attempts at germination only produced males when they did germinate.
I have the remaining seeds in my possession but as luck would have it, they were sent by a third party, unannounced, so they sat in a hot mailbox for a week this summer.
That pretty much sums up everything except the Vietnamese growers in Van Nuys but that's for another time.✌️and great smoke!
