Yup, was gonna say ink caps. They grew in my mom's pathos a lot, and in the pathos I have, the soil is showing strong mycellial growth which I hoping some will pop up.

Have heard they're inedible, but if you taste em they're super citrusy. Don't recommend since they'll make your stomach cramp, but there's a little bit of useless info for ya.

You might be thinking of the shaggy mane?

I think originally the parasola was classified in the coprinus family back in the day, that was after being classified as an agaricus. It really shows how theunderstanding of things change as technologies provides different capabilities leading to further advances, and insights....further classifications

Yup, inky caps as already stated. Very common in compost, manure, woodchips, yards, even store bought soil. Nasty lil F'rs. Took over my manure pile a few weeks ago.

@GCG. Your fruiting chamber is looking real good man! Dunk and roll eh? I like this method as it provides not only a source for additional moisture , but a protective layer against excess moisture buildup on the cake/ myc. Keep those inky caps out of the house though. Their spores are virulent, and can very easily contaminate your grow. Good luck!

@Deebs, Love those lid setups man. Very pro looking and should do you quite nicely.

So it looks like I need to add a ceramic heater to my utility room during testing.....not hitting the temp mark, and humidy is condensating on the walls stealing it . Outside is cooler than the inside need to fix that..from reading heat the room not the tent..

That's what I've read as well. (Heat the room not the tent).
Wow that is really condensing! That is something I had not considered with a tent. Is it lowering the Rh as well?
Using such a large area it might take some tweaking several times a yr. Even day/night temps might have an effect. hmmm.
I have no doubt that you will get it dialed in though.
There are optimal temps ofc, but FME, the range is basically, "If I'm comfortable, so are they". That gives you a little room to work with.
If it drops below or goes a bit above optimal, no real damage done. Just slows the process a bit.
Cubes are quite a forgiving species.

humidity does drop yeah...maxing out at 92%..I think once the room is heated a little it will get better. I am going to add the heater to the temp controller, that should let me know when the temp equalizes from outside to inside..

So I think once the sub is in there it will add some heat too right?

A little bit, yeah. Depends on what you have in there, how much, and how big the subs are. They produce a small amount of heat while colonizing. As will bags with colonizing wood. I dont know if you will see a temp difference in the tent as a whole, but readings at the sub level might be a bit higher compared to the surrounding open space.

Nope, for sure the same ones you posted a pic of.

It's crazy for sure how much the understanding of these things has exploded even over just the past ten years. I suppose a lot of it has to do with the growth of society, the Internet, and the subsequent wide availability and accessibility of information that we didn't have even two decades ago.

So this heater isnt going to be in until monday..I have one without a digital temp setting...its working so far... but might have to put it on the temp controller for now

also note the humidifier hose in the martha can collect condensation, position so that it can drip to the perlite if needed....it was gargling, and I had minimum humidity.. LOL
Numbers more in line..

So of my 9 jars that went into fruiting chamber Tuesday only 2 of them are throwing mushrooms so far. All new to me so dont know if this is normal or bad. Leaning toward bad. Whats a normal timeframe once jars hit chamber? I'll get some pics up today.

It's normal. Times will vary some. 5-8 days to see pins/fruit is not unusual. Dont worry, or over think it. (As difficult as that is first run lol)
Let it do its thing ;) It wants to fruit. As long as you give it the conditions it needs, it will. Just keep an eye out for unusual colors or odors.
Keep us updated and good luck!

That's awesome. I get the giddiness. Rest of my cakes are slowly throwing pins. Temps are 75 - 80. Best I can keep them and humidity is 93. Have been pulling them as the mature from 2 cakes. I read all kinds of harvest tips and still don't know if I should be removing them as they mature or jjst letting them go. Decided to harvest as II go.
Have 5 grams dried already and about 45 fresh. Partial harvest from 2 cakes so far.
Been lacking on pics will get better. Back full circle to uncontrolled minion type excitement. That's why I dont have pics. I see mushrooms and get all geeked up and harvest them quicklike. Im like a 5 year old.

Feeling good. Just happy nothing much else. Smoking some delicious Citrus Milf. Should pair well with how I feel right now. Was nauseous for a little while, didnt last. If I close my eyes I can drift off into really good physical feelings but that's as far as it goes. No visual distortion of any kind, well TV has a little aura that I normally dont see but that's all. Will dig some music. Going into my playlist for a while now.
