Pine flavour wanted

Bose

Vegging
I would love to find fresh pine tasting strain. Years ago in the 1980sI had some fluorescent green bud taste like fresh pine. It was so smooth and a great creeper weed. Was only around for a year or so. Good luck on your hunt.

It's not a sativa, but the 79 Christmas tree bud has got exactly that. The pine tree smell in loads. Lol.
Might've been what you had @Bose.
Here's a good write up done on it I found for you.

I remember a while back talking to @Schwaggy P about the 79 xmas bud. The strait pine you speak of does exist in this strain but the majority of the phenos had more of the pine-sol smell. I have a pack of them i will get to at some point and will be looking for that pine needle or cone smell/taste.

I had a Chemdog plant that was a really heavy pine taste and smell to her, one of my Jenny plants sister seeds. I kept her for awhile because she was quite potent. The pine though isn't one of my faves, so I let her spot go after a few grows.
I don't have her anymore but I did chuck her to a Citrol Sledgehammer boy from GK genetics.
Tangie x 9 lb hammer is the CS lineage.
Have alot of those beans, welcome to some, though it may be a hunt for that pine pheno after the crossing.

What's up Jesse. That's pretty interesting!
I would think that would be a real tasty cross! Have you had a chance to run any of them after the chuck? I'd be interested to see or hear how they turned out.

I haven't. I've been in the middle of chucks and other planned growing events.
Really just chucked her cause she was there when I was pollinating a Jenny and it was my last run of her. Lol. Make beans so I can always come back to it later, and or pass em out. ???
Too many things on my "grow wish list" right now.
Then I keep adding other commitments into the mix. Lmfao.
Could send you some of them, or of a Jenny cross if you want.
I did/am still doing a # of crosses with her.

I would love to acquire some of them!
Gladly give you what you may want for some. Although my plans will make me wait til mid summer to work with them:)

There was mostly pinesol/vicks vapo-rub, but you can find some more muted pine in them. They are very short stacked little stumpy plants (far from sativa) that take awhile to veg. The stretch is nominal (25-50%) and would benefit from a long veg before flip. This Xmas plant was pollinated so that's why there are male flowers and a "dusty" look to her.

The article that Jesse was kind enough to post on the Xmas bud makes it sound like the buds lack bag appeal and not much to look at. Has that been your experience also? That wouldn't matter so much though as long as taste and potency are there I'd think. Especially if a guy squeezed it or made hash. I've often read about and debated on picking up some '79 Xmas beans.

Considering the modern frosty plants, the Xmas Bud does not have the covergirl bag appeal. It is not bad, they are very dense nugs with lighter colored pistils and decent frost. She has a relaxing stone but she really shines in the terp profile. I would guess she'd make great concentrate.

I too grew out the 79' xmas tree bud and agree with all the assessments. I had a much more lemon/lime/pine smell than just straight pine, took forever to get to a decent size, and smoke was decent but not really a knockout. Would probably make a good parent if you are trying to quell the stretch on a lanky plant.

I am pretty certain i am going to soak a pack of the Jenny x cirol sledgehammer in the next week or two if you want to follow along.
