Honestly surprised to find this post and that this is the first response?? If that can possibly make sense.
I have questions about allergic reaction specifically to male pollen and more generally to reversed pollen and the female analog (a pheromone??).
I seem to have a differing reaction to various cultivars.
On the female side ones that make me itchy and sniffly when I touch or take a big whiff of are very frequently the ones that I find are the best medicine for me and generally the most "potent" according to my rather limited smoking circle. This is mostly in regard to living plants with dried cured material it's a more visceral response I associate with terpenes but have no idea what causes that, like how scent can trigger memory.
I've never reversed a female plant so IDK about pollen from them but if a hermaphrodite drops pollen I seem to have a reaction
more to it and honestly any plant from any seed resulting from that kind of pollination event has a massive uphill battle to win my approval.
On the male side I am currently growing Mango Biche and Afgaan90 for preservation. I had very little reaction to the Mango Biche pollen and much more severe reaction to the Afgaan90. This isn't the first time but maybe the most extreme example.
I think of myself as preferring "indicas" and find this a curious correlation.
The Mango Biche project is kinda postponed due to intersex with one of the males. I intend to re-run the project, but it's now a sever selection due to culling the one plant on limited numbers anyway. Figure I might as well take advantage of the rest of the Mango Biche's flower cycle and make some hybrids
