I'm not sure I can even come up with a top 5, not too many strains hit my fancy. I can think of two strains that I grew and really enjoyed.
The Cube from Exotic Genetix & Grapefruit Kush from Next Generation Seed Co. The Cube is nearly impossible to find, but the GF Kush is readily available.

Coming up with top 5 strains is like picking five favorite songs, to be honest

More than anything, I'm just picking what's coming to mind at the time. But flip thru this thread and you'll see strains mentioned and be like "OYEA, that one". Same as an old song you remember.

However. .. man, PBB has been top of my list for a good 3 years now. Nothing touches it flavor-wise, high-wise, bud density-wise. ... it's a dank almost "meaty" strain that just stacks & stacks, every rip gets your head higher to the heavens and your ass lower to the couch 🤣🤘

Flavour Pack. I grew one seed, got one female and GAWDDAMMIT i should've kept a cut. Smelled like Grandma's favorite potpourri, and had the most perfect Kush exhale. Can't find it anymore, the newest Oishii drop seems to have lots of people getting herms so I don't wana risk that at 350/pack.

Absolutely without a doubt #1 EVER and has been for YEARS:

#1. Blue Cheese!!!!!!! (I even mark my jars with the exclamation marks because I'm excited about it) the roaches from Blue Cheese go in their OWN Jar so when I run out I have those to smoke some. I DO now keep jars or bags set aside for other strains too, like Motor Breath and Chem D and so on, but Blue Cheese is generally separated from the rest and I rarely roll up any of it with something else into a house blend LOL.

#2......... Now it's going to get convoluted :
#2 and #3 and so on are a toss up.... Chem D, Chemdog, UK Cheese, OG Kush, Purple Chemdog, Blue Dream, Green Crack, Skywalker, GMO (A recent addition now that I finally tried it).... I imagine I'd LOVE Blueberry but I've never had it. Had lots of it's kids though LOL. MSG is up there too.

In terms of making my top list, Smell and Taste play a part in it, but not as much of a part as the effects; Blue Cheese I generally wait until the Resin is getting a little Amber color to some of it before I pull it, because I like CBN to be in there too.

Not sure if mine has changed but there's still no clear 2, 3, or 4:

1. Blue Cheese
2. UK Cheese / Chemdog / Chem D / Purple Chemdog.... I would need to smoke all of them again to figure out which one.
5. GMO.

Chemdog and Chem D are phenotypes so they share a spot wherever they are in my list lol.

Well, that was some time ago now, and I've now got things to add in... Probably still won't be in any order though LOL:

#1 Every Cheese
#2 Every Chem
#3....Now it gets a little convoluted, because I don't know the order... Sin City Juice is on here now though, so I think that and GMO are going to have to fight it out for which is where.
OG Kush and Cat Piss both are on my favorites too, but, given how #1 and #2 are multiple things, I can't really decide even now. LOL.

Pretty sure this is the one. I would have grabbed it from one of the European seedbanks maybe 8 years ago.

I thought I should mention...I smoked Lake Tahoe for primary smoke for a year, between grows. It gave me a comfortable "serviceable" stone without ever being too awfully intense, really what I liked about it best was the various flavors I would get from it, a load of them, cinnamon candy, hash, citrus, I've forgotten now all the different flavors but one of them was anise for sure and more than once. I was growing Best Coast Genetics gear on that one and not sure but I think there's only 2 phenos. I had both but one I didn't smoke a lot and can't say if it had any anise flavor but it was very similar taste wise to the other.

I have a single seed from a Tahoe in last years grow, I guess it was a self (?) one seed is not a lot but it's only a year old if you want it hmu in pm's and I'll send it to inside USA.

also just found this, blue licorice, currently the easiest option to find and obtain. Just curious who else is into the aniseed? Anyone find a loud menthol?

I had some Motor Breath once go all Vic's VapoRub on me. And I have Chocolate Cheese which is.... It's hard to say this is Menthol, because it's more like REALLY intense Mint, but it's so close I thought I'd give it a mention.

I never detected any chocolate, but the mint was enough to put me off. Just not my thing.

So since I derailed another thread above, here’s my list. But it’s only good on November 1 at 3:35 PM:

And right this very second I have a craving for M-39 'Beasters' (yes, I am the only person on earth who liked beasters)

Yeah, beasters changed everything for us. Before that it was just brick or mids (and not what people call mids now, it was just brick weed that hadn't been bricked, still full of seeds) most of the year, and then we would get flooded with a bunch of good outdoors from Maine in the fall. Occasionally some decent weed would come through that everyone called hydro, even though it probably wasn't, but we never knew the strain. Beasters showed up and suddenly we had a reliable source of "good" weed year round. And then shortly thereafter all the Cali weed started showing up and beasters became "shitty" weed lol. But I still liked them.

I may try and find some M39 seeds now just to see if they even resemble the beasters I remember.

i was told the Chinese just didn’t grow it well etc. which made me think of it like old Med brick that was good but would be at least 20-30% better if grown well.

Thus two packs of M-39 are in the vault. Wait until amberville and me thinks I will like it a lot 💯

Gary Payton is unreal! Very easy to grow. She will stretch in presence of too much heat but thats about the only downside. The cut I have takes pollen fairly well. Tried reversing it once and it had a hard time with that.
