True.
I prefer the lovely Hue that falls somewhere between stubbornness and poverty.
For the time being, my crops are illuminated in the 'Sour Grape' spectrum.

The photo is what they call a 'high Bay Lighting fixture'.
Typically 400 W metal halide.
I have five of them -in various states of disrepair.
Not so much a heat sink as such. It is a stacked, iron plate, Transformer, to maintain operating voltage.
But yeah, scalding hot.
They can be modified, as remote fixtures. I have a couple of them with patch cord between the Mogul socket, and the transformer. As such, I can hang the lightweight Luminaire up top, whilst harvesting Heat from the ballasts, that I have situated under the bed.
In my limited experience, 400 watt MH is my favorite for veg. I can run a 5x5 area for 6 weeks+, and everything stays under 12 inches tall.
