What conditions do you battle most in your grow

In Bloom
For me, it's the humidity.

This is outside at 7:30 AM in late July.

A typical summer mourning here in the deep south.

I run 2 dehumidifiers and and an extra A/C unit and still struggle to keep the RH below 60% in my rooms.

Between the dehumidifiers, A/C and strategic air flow, I rarely have any problems these days.

What have been the major hurdles in your grows?

Similar to @Chefdave i suffer from occasional burnout & I just don't want to go back there 🤷‍♂️ can a brutha just get drunk & pass out early once in a while? --well, turns out I can while the plants are small and vegging 🤣🤘 like once every other week, that's about it.

That, and Summer heat. ... We've had so many 100 degree + days that it's hard to even find a cool place in the house to store weed. Coolest place is the kitchen cabinets and it's still hitting above 76° in there 🤷‍♂️. The heat thing is so bad, especially this year, that for future grows I'm going to time it out to not harvest any plants from May to about Sept. Vegging plants LOOOOVE the heat, late flowering plants not so much

Hottest summer i can remember. Almost everyday in 90s some 100 + days. Even though im automated in flower rooms, im not in veg thats coming by sept 1st. Then i will be able to take a day or 2 off. Now its a 7day minimum 3hr deal, thats why some days i dont love being in the garden but mostly i luv it. I think next year i will close 2 wk of may and reopen 1st week of sept. Cheers dave

depending on the time of year everyday is a new adventure up on the 2nd floor Shangri La

summer is heat, humidity and the worry of critters...I can hold my own (barely) but when the high heat AND humidity comes to the Northeast I haven't a chance. Just can't keep up when it gets like that but like most everyone we manage it the best we can like lose sleep thinking about it and have your mind constantly spinning trying to think of what to do or try, searching the net for answers maybe some lucky soul figured out.

winter is cold and NO humidity which is hard on new and vegging plants, flowering not so much...mostly easier on utility costs and my mind (what's left of it)

there is some laziness that creeps in at times, things like checking plants up close n personal for issues such as nanners/balls or critters or even saying "I'll get to that tomorrow". I'm paying for that with a bunch of seeds in some recently harvested plants because I wasn't vigilant. I've got to DO and BE BETTER at it! People about lose their shit nowadays when they find more than one seed, they have no idea right! Back in the day there was more seeds than weeds lol. Still gotta do better!

Humidity is the main thing. We don't have many dry Falls, and rain isn't even as big an issue as that RH being 100% at night without a breeze. I may actually have to top a plant this season to keep the buds smaller so they are less likely to mold up on me. The heat gets to me, the Mosquitoes get to me, but the RH gets to the buds.

Def temps , luckily these plants can handle swings 😁
HELL YEAH BROTHER... this is FREAK genetics, not WEAK genetics 🤘🤘

burnt out body parts , after hours and hours from pruning this to trimming that and misc garden work I can barely even lift a water without crazy pain . Most of time I can’t even sleep more than a few hours

foliars that are 3-10 gallons for veggies/cannabis and making sure every part is sprayed and shaking it every 15-30 seconds. Great joy, the 1-2 week top dressing organics with a full face exp if hot out, soo much fun

omg outdoors the mosquitoes, once it’s a few hours before dark or cloudy man they get me hard , I’ll be spraying dark woods and even wearing a head mask and man that works but makes it hard for me to see the perfect pruning/cuts sometimes aka netting around ur head . Septoria , I live in a 90-100% rh everyday besides when it’s sunny and def if u aren’t cleaning up the bottoms and genetically it def shows which ones don’t hang as good. removing 90% of ur leafs and it still infects and than kills ur yeilds at end always puts a major kick in balls :(.. def pheno selected and I def try to logg which plants suck for outdoors for such reasons cause its make or break in nature

10+ clone trays all diff days and ocd watching every line of trays for any contamination .

Outdoor growing, every year it's been rabbits. I killed so many rabbits last year that I didn't have many this year.
But this year was the worst grasshoppers I've ever seen. Instead of normal leaf damage they completely ate the plants. Lost over 80% of my plants to grasshoppers this year.
Probably done growing outdoors for a while.

I'm my own worst enemy.
I get half assed.
I settle for OK.
I got to many ideas that are constantly throwing up more ideas in my wee brain.
I've lived more years as an indoor cannabis grower, than ANY other occupation I ever worked at, in my 67 years....and I still need to be better at it!
Man I piss me off.

Great thread! Thanks everyone for contributing, nice to get a glimpse into everyone's perspective.
For me, it's space, plant count, wattage use and pot size.
Never enough space, too many plants....
Everything I own is in a ~300 sq ft room. Grow sq ft is small, 53 sqft in 8 tents (in winter). Wattage is relatively low overall.

I started using half gallon bags for flower and packing them in. Not ideal. But too many strains and I want to run as many as possible for selection. Going to try to switch to 1 gallon bags and veg slightly longer. Use half gallons to sex and do selection in veg.
I just opened up another tent for veg and need to start transplanting soon.

After, ready for transplant (except the 5 Boo seedlings)
