Anyone else get hit in Chicago area?

The neighbors had a ~20" diameter evergreen go over in their front yard and we've been having lots of power outages up here in rural northern Alberta as we continue the wettest summer on record and the storms keep raging. The saturated ground is soft and the tree roots aren't holding in the big winds

I've been setting up small scale backup systems while educating myself and planning for full off-grid electricity.

For anyone starting out, this guy's YT channel is a great place to learn. It was recommended to me by a big-time solar nerd and has been very useful on both overall knowledge and hands-on practical stuff:

I hate evergreens. They’re really common around here, and people always seem to plant them right next to driveways and houses. There’s one a couple blocks from me that’s probably one of the largest I’ve seen in this area they are the worst offenders though without a doubt.
