The Martyrs Den

This winter has been the most difficult season ive faced. Between the storms and power outs, siezures, shed freezing....moisture....I moved the few survivors and am licking my wounds to start fresh. Just fkn devastated. Each fail just made things worse lol. Sheds empty, gonna move to different spot on my property, gas heat, and investing in a generac so I ha e a natural gas generator for the house and shed..20 yrs growing in a rotted out6x6 shed and had more issues this winter than in all 20 lmao. New home, new learning g curve....I guess🙄 all I know is I gotta get crackin because the jars are low and I cant smoke dispo.

They just waste space e and energy on here. The new stuff on the shelves is HBZ and Grimm. After that is a full Ethos round of cherry pie, cherry gar see ya,, punch n pie, mandarin cookies.

I gotta get me a hibiscus this summer, always enjoy them when I see them.

I have quite a few varieties in my yard mixed with rose of sharon. They pull hummingbirds like crazy.
Rare to see them in the ground up here. I'm on the edge of zone 4/5, in an area where in a 20-mile line it goes from zone 4b to 6a. I could probably get away in town but out at the property just 5 miles away it's a little different climate.

I want one in a pot, keep it outside during warm weather and inside when it's cold. Some get pretty big though. Yours looks prefect sized.

Whats the toughest wi ter ever without a wife going menopausebipolar and kicking one out lol. Lived in my shed for 3 weeks. Back and dialed in with the Mrs. Nice to not sleep on a shed floor for a cha.ge. eft my back up bad. Grow is moving along. Saved some good cuts from my losses. Only got to sample tiny buds from each but these seem to stand out.

What do you use as a mix? I usually make dense herbal tea from my buddys greenhouse herbs.
My 1 gallon standard is 2 cups fruit to 1 cup sugar and fill with water, and then 2 fermentations is standard with fruit. I've never made the Hibiscus soda yet, due to not having any, lol, might need a ginger bug first. But here's what it looks like.

I have a ton of Rose of Sharon pods from last year if interested @Bullfrog.
Very kind of you to offer. They're very pretty plants. I did landscape construction for most of my life. Can't count all the Rose of Sharon I pulled out because they don't do well. There are too many deer and rabbits in this area for them to do well unless they're in a fenced off garden. I'm pretty wore down on fighting deer. Seems like everything I like they do too. I know some Nannyberry (Viburnum) I planted last spring have been eaten down this winter because I didn't fence them off. I can't do the fencing every year, maybe now but not forever, need to find stuff they won't eat. Pair the pests with my being on the edge of zone 5, with zone 4 not very far away it's not the best plant for the area.

I want one of those tropical Hibiscus, the ones with the big showy flowers. Keep it in a pot where the deer won't go, bring it inside for winter, maybe get some blooms over the dreary days.

I want to get one myself. to make soda with :)
I was making keifer soda myself for a while a few years ago, loved that stuff, miss it too. My favorite was a lemon ginger soda, so yummy. I bet Hibiscus would be good too.

Won't be much to sample as it went through hell. Few more weeks to go but it smells awesome. This is what I got the cuts of choc thai x pure michigan that I posted above. The rest are just too embarrassing to do closeups lol. Next round of pics will be showing healthy plants. Im thinking of running some ethos banana jealousy autos and some fastbuds gelato under one light and the cuts and junky99 reveg under the other. I figure by the time the autos are done, the others will have had 4 months veg time. During that time, ill be building a large bed box for in the shed. I dont do well with small co trainers. I prefer 15s or bigger and tbh, I'd rather do it outdoors. So, ill bring great indoors to my shed. I have a 7x10 space when my tent room is empty and that where it'll start. I already have water out here, I have a nice vent system waiting in a box, dug a French drain next to thw shed so im ready to plan. Im thinking U shaped 🤔

Ive made it a few ways. Syrup to add to sparkling g water, fruit fermd with flower and made concentrate tea and mix dried flower, sweetener like honey or raw sugar with hot water. The syrup is the most flavor if you want pure tatse. The others are delish as well.

I'd be the most interested in the fermented one similar to this
