I'm mostly using the under-canopy lights as a strategy to limit stretch.
A much more effective way to limit stretch is in the first 3 weeks of flower to utilize significant drybacks and for the first week of flower a 0 -52- 35 fertilizer such as moab, kool bloom dry, open sesame, etc. this will induce many more flower sites, while limiting stretch in addition to the drybacks 30 to 40 percent overnight. Sorry to say but those 6500k at that wattage, being undercanopy aren't doing much for ya stretch wise, but will help with lowers somewhat, you need more wattage, you can run overhead lights at 60 percent overhead for 1st 3weeks of flower, with your 6500s ,even though with the strains your running which sound like landrace , never really stop growing. This is all for personal so looks like I'll just get a better overhead for my big room. Almost everything gets pressed so I go through a lot of plants for the 3 of us here that partake.
My top light is a Mars Hydro fce-8000. I forgot to mention that I just started using they're "Adlite" series as well, got the UV, IR, and the 660 deep red going, so plenty of red in there. I figured the 6500k would add some blue to that, maybe balance things out a bit. I've used these same light for vegging seedlings and also as supplemental top lights during flower. Some of those grows produced absolutely amazing flower, better than without I'd argue. I've heard people swear by metal halide for ultimate flower quality, never tried MH myself, but I'm convinced that some additional blue during flower can be very beneficial. For this run I'm even considering hitting them with the Blue Adlite (440nm) during that last couple weeks of flower.6500 k is ok, as long as you have a lot of 660nm mixed in, 6500knby itself is veg lighting not flower
