The 3 that I flipped to flower last night did great, they grew and handled the low humidity just fine.
Every grow is a learning experience, even when you're my age? You learn to adapt to every curve ball you're thrown. Makes this life interesting.I had a dream last night that I opened the 4x4 and those 3 plants were a shriveled up mess. It was really nice seeing them so happy. They went from 80°/50% RH and 180 watts of QB to 77°/40%RH and 600w hps. Sometimes the RH gets under 20% when the humidifier runs dry. Winter is rough in this basement. Even hanging clothes to dry down there doesn't raise it. I guess it's a great way to test their resistance to low humidity environment. I'll keep notes.
Exactly. I love being at the point to where I can experiment and just have fun growing. And I love testing for y'all folks. The only problem I have now is I need more room to grow. I think we all have that problem at some point. I always figure it out though. I found a 2x4 tent that is 84 inches tall so that's getting bought on the first and going right next to our bed. That'll give us room for 3-4 more for flower and a bunch for when we need it for veg. Might even use it to keep a couple mommas. It's getting interesting for sure and it's going to get even more so very soon.Every grow is a learning experience, even when you're my age? You learn to adapt to every curve ball you're thrown. There's never enough room to do what you want. How about using the whole basement and a tent(s) to flower? How much more would it cost to heat the whole thing? Cooler temps 60' 70's aren't a death sentence. I got mine through 30's and 40's outside. A bit slower growth but may be worth it.Exactly. Name one that isn't from time to time. Predictable and reliable isn't reality?Does it really, though? Not to argue, but just a first stone of the day reaction - I hate curve balls. I like predictable and reliable. I'm scanning to see if there's any areas of life where I would prefer a Kershaw uncle Charlie over a Buehler dead red heater, but can't think of any. [ weed, Waffle House, weather, companions, humans ....]
But if my eggs are undercooked I can predictably send them back and reliably get a re-cook. That's a good enough reality for me.Predictable and reliable isn't reality?
Of course but how many of us do or even can? I can't control a lot of variables outside so I adapt. Rain for a week? Cold for a month, all unexpected? Adapt, make the best of it and move forward. But if my eggs are undercooked I can predictably send them back and reliably get a re-cook. That's a good enough reality for me.
But seriously, regarding growing weed, my routine has had very few changes in a decade. Same hydro, same nutes for the most part. The only part of a grow that has variables at this point is the finished bud because of using different varieties. I'd think most growers would strive to have a consistent regimen that works and avoids those problematic curveballs.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you and your son get over it quickly. Stay positive for him. ?Damn damn damn. We just cannot catch a break. Im so tired of this damn virus. My son woke up with a fever, nonstop coughing etc. I woke up with my chest hurting like hell. We can get tested but by the time we get the results it'll be February. This time is gonna be the worst though. Completely broke, no meds of any kind, the wife is gonna have to take off work again. Sorry for the rant. This just sucks and y'all are my only friends.
