Holy crap! I wonder what happened as they seemed to be doing so well.
Yeah that's odd for sure. My first (and only) time utilizing the HerbsNOW dryer did not go so well haha. I left my flowers a little too long (a fuckup on my part). Luckily, I tested it on what I would consider subpar flowers to begin with, so not the biggest deal. I feel like there are so many variables that it will take me a while to get the hang of using it. My temperature and humidity are back to favorable in the bedroom that I use to dry, so I am back to hang drying for the time being haha. Ya can't teach this old dog new tricks haha. Positive vibes...

Yea i hope for a good outcome but i think it will be a major challenge to survive. I am sure the company probably has major debt and with no product to sell for multiple months would do most company's in.
My guess is that he has very few expenses as he operates from hand to mouth so to speak. Since I got mine (Last October) and probably before that, he was constantly out of stock. I made mention of venture capital. Small thinkers don't want to give up a piece of their pie in order to have a larger piece of a smaller pie. It wouldn't be the 1st time that an imventor made a poor business person. My GUESS would be a smallish bank loan to get the drier manufactured and shipped.

I still wonder just what happened. I guess that the world's turmoil hasn't helped things. Shipping is all messed up, although I have a buddy that got his Kingbrites from China in under 2 weeks recently.
Personally, I have only ordered from USA suppliers for the past 5 months. While not great these days..the packages have a better chance of arriving when shipped within the USA.

I did not realize he was that small. Hard to say what the heck happened with the shipment.Hopefully he will pull thru fine. Cleaned and packed mine up today for a couple of months. Very pleased with mine so far. The first harvest of the Citrus is going on close to 3 weeks in the jar. I looked them over today and they look and smell great.

That's just my guess judging by what I saw. His videos were awful and I think a total turnoff to a potential customer.

The Citrus Milf that I received from @jaguarlax is above the rockwool already..Only been about 36 hrs. Looking forward to that one.

My Herbsnow hopefully will last a while since I use it a few times a month. I am so used to drying this way now, that going back to hanging would not be to my liking. I am still shocked at this and honestly wasn't expecting these results. Just jarred a Strawberry Banana after 48 hrs in that thing. Those were very tight nugs and already very smokable. What is shocking is that I am able to rosin press most strains right out of the dryer!:flame:

I have done wet trims and dry trims. My personal favorite is chopping the entire plant and hanging upside down for about a week, then I trim but leave it on the stem. I then hang the plant again for another 24-72 hours depending on bud size. Once I remove the buds from the stems, off to tubberware containers for cure. I like to take them out and move the buds around for a few minutes once a day for usually a week. By the second week, the buds are almost to the point where they can go a 48-72 hour period before needing to be moved around again. By the 3rd week they are good to go but I open them once a week after that for the next month. I have found 3-4 months is my sweet spot for curing. My drying tent temps are low 60's F and around 55-60% RH. I use a small 6 in fan on the floor pointing downwards just to move air around inside the tent.

Problem for me is the RH in the High Sierra Nevada desert. We are talking about 10% RH (or lower) during the summers and maybe 30% during the winters. Even with 2 humidifiers going in a walk in closet, it was impossible to get the RH over 50%..Makes that drier invaluable for me.

That's really gotta be tough. What about a room inside a room? a tent inside a tent?

I wonder if he sold out, as in sold the company. Can you guys find a patent no. on the untis? Alternatively was he infringing on someone elses patent?

I'll have a look later, but I doubt that the drier is patentable. It is simply a reworked food hydrator imo. Just a good idea that he had.
If he sold the company, I imagine that a new owner would still be adverstising on the original site..that would have to part of any deal imo.

I did a quick look and found something recent for one that iperates at 105, seems this lower and if it adjusts based on rf as well I think the control circutry/software might be patentable. IDK, shootin the moon I would like to see him be successful, I think the product is a good solutuon for a 1st world problem.

I'd take more money to drop out and sign a non compet for a limited term like jr peters did with jacks.

Hopefully @Buzzer777 can get that number i just packed mine away. I do remember seeing Trade mark labels on the Buds Now name . I think @Buzzer777 is probably spot on with thinking it is the inventor trying to get the company going .

@SSGrower and @Capt. C
Nope..No patent number.
Just an FYI..I had a patent over ten years ago. It took over 7 yrs and over $10k just to get started. I had a "big bother" that footed the bill in return for the right of first refusal should it issue. It did and I sold it rather than play in a league that I couldn't afford to be in. Having a patent is only the beginning..then you have to defend it! Mucho dinero!

The trademark is the name only and relatively cheap to get.

This is supposed to operate at 80d F or so.
FYI..even control circuitry like that would be deemed "obvious" by the USPTO and an S102 objection would surely follow.

Yup,yup.
I am beginning to think he infringed on someones patent but this is total speculation. The unit seems patentable to me and I think there is a big market for it. Obviously he was having trouble keeping them in stock in the first place, not to mention the current adminstrations position on chinese infringment on us patents.... idk speculation can be fun lol. I am eeal curious to see how this pans out, time will tell.

Yeah thats why I added software, but you obviously know more about that than I do.

Only because I already was there. Ten yrs ago, the USPTO was a disastyer..worse not I bet.

A quick search revealed a food dehrdrator patent that was issued worldwide in 1979 and is expired today. Patents are a convoluted nightmare and always have been. MUCH more research would have to go in to even get the ball rolling. Even patent search guys are pricy. The way to keep a patent from expiring is to keep adding to it, which seems to have not happenned here.
