Try putting a piece of Lettuce inside, but not touching the weed. You can use a magnet and piece of metal between the lettuce and the lid to keep it up from the flower. Orange peel, piece of apple peel all work. Have heard that a piece of taco is good too. (never tried that one)
Great tip @Buzzer777 . I do not have lettuce here but i have carrots. I sliced some less than a 1/8 of a inch and blotted them fairly hard with a paper towel. Set the slice right on top of the humidity pack inside the jar. I will keep you posted. Sure is a lot easier removing moisture than trying to add it. I was thinking for some reason that i had twice as much product in the dryer and it would go a lot longer . I will try to not make this mistake again and will monitor it much closer on my harvest next week.

Hmmm, never tried a carrot..LOL But they should do the same thing. I would check very often now to avoid mold. A few hrs should do the trick. An old hippie taught me some stuff..now I am the old hippie..:LOL:

I used to add moisture to dry weed for rosin pressing and the lettuce did great.

Holy crap did those numbers climb quick. WOW. Should i take the carrots out when i reach desirable numbers? I have already removed from 2 of the jars as the numbers went above 70%. I can remember trying the carrot trick many moons ago on some dry ass Mexican weed. Can't remember if it worked but it sure worked getting the moisture up in those jars.

I would remove them..reseal and then watch as thew RH will probably drop again. The buds should begin to feel moister (squishy) as you play around. It has been a long time since I did anything like that and my memory is not the greatest these days.

Okay i will play around with it. This gives me hope for salvaging it as it is probably a hair over 7 zips.

I will say that besides hanging a comparison once, I have not hang dried anything since getting the dryer. I am sold on it! Maybe @jaguarlax will update us on his air fryer dryer.:dancingsmiley"
I really have not had to emergency dry anything until today actually... So I will report back after this gelato is finished... Conventional wisdom says the slower the dry the better, so I have been hanging my harvests... With that said... 48 hours in the Omni at 90 degrees will produce smokable bud that is a bit more harsh than slow dried but not anything unbearable.

No worries, but seriously..the lettuce thing works to help re-hydrate flower.
@Buzzer777 the blotted carrot slices are working really well. All but one is over 60% now and holding . I took the carrots and humidity pack out last night ( humidity packs were damp from the carrots. Reintroduced the same routine today on the few that were still at the mid 50's. They appear to be holding not sure how long but hopefully long enough to get thru the cure. Best use i have seen for those humidity packs to date is a place to set the carrot slice on :ROFLMAO: . I know you will argue that point in the dry climate you are in but i have not seen results that would warrant buying anymore of those packs and i have tried both brands. With the packs alone the most i could raise the material is 1-2 degrees at the most. The only thing i can't comment one is long term storage most of my stuff only stays around for a couple of months and a tight mason jar will hold that humidity easily that long without dropping. Today's spoils. Herb Now dryer 001.JPG

@Capt. C
I am glad that the idea worked out for you!
No matter how much we have, it's still sacrilege to ruin good weed!

I would not argue the Boveda point. I use them out of habit and TBH..haven't formally checked the results in quite a while. I do know that it takes a few days for the moisture to be reconstituted, even with the Boveda.

A really easy way is to wet a paper towel..wring out the excess water, and stick that in the top of a mason jar..for an hour to begin..or mold happens.

Glad that worked out. Late to chime in but as kid when our bags would dry out we'd add apple or orange peels and be back to smokable in no time. Cant wait until they finally ship my unit. I've got orange peels if I fuck up.

Just got an email from Herbs Now. They refunded my purchase. Said delays were due to catastrophic damage to their products. Dont know when they will have them again. Damn!
Well that sucks. I hope the founding company survives this hit and i think it was a good thing to get a refund in the event the company does not survive. Things such as that usually get shipped aboard container ships. They really stack those containers high and they are designed to actually roll off the ship ( to keep from capsizing) in really rough water if the ship tilts a little to far. Shipping insurance rates depend on where it is stacked. They can and do lose them from time to time. At least this is what info i was given by some insurance guys that fished on my boat.

One last update on the Herbs Now dryer. First dry was 50 hours ( not quite dry enough). Second dry was close to 70 hours ( to dry but workable). Third dry was 53 hours with three different strains ( my average room humidity is around 50% RH ). One strain was just right the next a little to moist and the third strain was still quite a bit moist. So the point i am making is not only will room humidity affect the dry time so will the strain type. Jar the product a little to moist is not that big a deal just open jar or dump out for a while. Adding moisture back and to keep it up is much more difficult.
